One kit was enough to build 1.5 ghillies with way too much material on them! The netting goes a long way. One 5x9 section of netting was enough to build two complete three-piece sniper ghillie suits (the entire back and arms of a large jacket, the entire back of large pants, and a full "head & shoulder" setup for both). If you want a stalker suit (upright stalk, complete ghillie coverage front/back), you'll probably use most of the netting but still have enough left over for your rifle.
the only problem with those kits is that the burlap/jute is pre dyed so you can't really pick the exact colours you want

I actually went to Jeroon (Army Issue) and bought an old badminton net he had. The net had a huge hole in it but there were still lots of usable yards left.

How'd it go? If you had to start over would you go the same route and purchase the kit again?

Thanks,

Tys

For shading / de-browning / de-greening my ghillie, we used Krylon Camo to some good effect.

That was actually the second ghillie I made. First one in several years, though.
