At the TAC09 convention this year, we will be forwarding the proto type ID cards for Certified BA Operators (read; snipers). Lots of people have been waiting on these for some time now, and if they (the counsel of the round table) find it acceptable, we'll start issuing them to the back list of course and clinic graduates. These will state the fps limit that the bearer has been certified up to, but the fps limits at games are still set by the host. These ID cards are just a way of a host verifying a BA operators level and they may make exceptions for these players. The ID cards get turned in to the host at any event where the BA Operator has been allowed to use a higher fps BA, and is will be returned to the player at the end of the event...UNLESS the BA Operator is responsable for seriously injuring another player with their BA. If this happens, the host is to forward the ID card to the reagonal instructor, and the BA Operator is publically banned from using anything other than the regular fps limits for a set length of time. Depending on the nature of the infraction leading to the injury, the player may face a ban ranging from one year to possibly being indefinitly banned from the certification program. Hosts may ban these players from attending any of their events, and the BA Operator may be banned from attending any other ASC sanctioned events for a set lenght of time. The whole big thing with this is that it only works if the airsoft community supports and enforces the bans. Remember that the HOST sets all fps limits, so the certification does not allow you to use higher fps just because you have it. You must be cleared through the HOST before you field the higher fps BA at any event. SHA DO

MultiCam Ghillie project
This is my MultiCam Ghillie that I have just started...
I have been taking photos throughout the process and am slowly getting results. I didn't take any shortcuts and am taking my time to get it right. I am building a 2 piece. I haven't decided on what I am going to use for a head piece ( Boonie or Hoodie ). I am finally beginning to see results on my top piece, but still have a long ways to go. I chose MultiCam because it seems to work all season long ( better in the spring and fall ). I am adding a little more green to the mix and I think its coming out OK. As for the bottoms, I ran out of Shoe Goo and only got the knee pads and wear resistors on... The first pic shows the opening for padding to be installed for the knees. I chose a very strong and water proof vinyl type material for the knees wear pads. I will touch them up with some paint later on, to help blend them into the BDU and get rid of the shine from the Show Goo. Note: I rounded the pads and went along the outside of the pad with Show Goo, to help prevent them getting snagged on debris and ripping the off or getting me hung up. I also Shoe Goo'd the backs directly to the BDU.. I have a lot more to do, but thought some people might be interested.. I will post as I go... |

Good start.
Paint work well to ajust the color, but with all the abrasion that surface will suffer, you will probably have to repaint the whole thing a couple of time a year. My ghillie, now 4 years old, has almost no paint left on the knee portion of the denim re-enforcement. It look odd and rag-tag, because my ghillie is woodland, with denim blue/white knees...

I dont think I will have to re-paint it, that many times. They are originally Olive drab... The more I use them and rough them up naturally, the better they will look in the long run... I chose OD, for that reason... All I really need to do is add paint to the shine from the Shoe Goo...

i cant tell if you are being sarcastic or not, because none of the pictures really show the mass amounts of foliage on the back
That being said... lets pretend we are being serious here! It was freaking amazing hahaha. It was really scary actually, as this milsim was the first role as a sniper ive ever played. and when a person is walking on a colision course directly at you, and you have a bolt action springer, you really hope your ghillie gets you out of the mess you have gotten yourself into. At one point my spotter and I were stalking around the field and finally spotted two guys apprx. 700 feet in the distance. we stalked up about another 100 feet and positioned ourselves off to the side of their projected path so we could ambush them once they had passed. Suddenly there path changed to directly towards us. Now apprx 200 feet in the distance (my spotter about 10 feet away towards me, closer to them) , they were within my effective range. unfortionately i was in clear line of sight and had my gun underneath my stomach. They passed right by the spotter, not even lying about 3-4 feet away. Noticing i was screwed, i popped up and attempted to get one shot off before getting a boot in the face. Unfortionately i was too excited and left my gun safed. Luckily they were so excited about killing me the two enemies started talking at me, and my spotter had enough time to turn around and unload at the two guys about 10 feet away with his tm ebr! |

No sarcasim here bro, I take my sniping very seriously. I am glad to hear that your first time out in a sniper role was sucessful. Most people start off with genuine interest but don't realize how dificult it can be until they try it.
Especially when the enemy walks right over you. Good shit bor. SHA DO

Even if the pics are too dark, I like them. It give them a mysterious dark aura, like sniping should be!

yeah ive been airsofting for a long time, and my tm ak got stolen from my car after it sat in there for a night (bad safety practice ) and so i thought i would take that perfect opportunity to try sniping as a role. funny story i found the ak on craigs list 4 months after it got stolen and went and took it back from the guy like 3 days ago. now i have my ak back so i can play both sniping some games aswell as rifleman others. i think sniping is my thing though

Hey folks.
I've contacted some of you from time to time in regards to getting set up for some ghillie kit. The time has come. I've just received my USR11 in the mail... a donor gun from my brother - it needs a mag (ordered through airsoftparts.ca), an outer barrel (if anyone can tell me how to REMOVE the outer barrel on this thing it'd make my life a LOT easier), and a pair of stock screws... I have to get one out of there, it's stripped to hell... the other is lost - This gun was a project that never came into fruition for him, and now it's my burden. So, first things first. I'm hitting the Home Depot this weekend for burlap, screws and hopefully, a metal pipe to make a barrel out of, with some kind of washer on the end. I've got a bunch of RIT dye as well. Tan, Dark Green, Brown and whitener. I'm in Northern Ontario, and will be doing a big walk through with a camera of the place I play in, to try to accurately match the colours of the ground. Are there any out-of-the-box things I should do to this? Yes, I've already taken the 'Real Shock' metal peices off. So far, the BB only goes through one side of a coke can. I remember something about teflon-ing a part to increase FPS. I'm not looking for super-stupid FPS... just something to give me a little reach.

Just finished mine tonight. It requires a lot of veg on-top, but it's pretty decent, if I do say so myself.

Nice ghille. It only need weathering now. Because it's full of straights lines.
Drag it behind your car when wet and wash it with a hose than let it dry outside... It should do the trick.
