M3 Shorty/M3 Super 90 Spring?

I've been having some troubles with the spring in my M3 Shorty. I am looking to purchase a new spring for it and after doing some searching around on here, someone mentioned that the M3 Shorty and M3 Super 90 are pretty much identical internally. My question is, can I drop a m3 Super 90 spring into my m3 shorty without problem?

I can think of no reason why you couldn't. The only real difference between the two is cosmetic, things like outer barrel length (The inner barrels are identical) full stock / pistol grip and the pump grip has a slightly more rubber feel with the shorty as compared to the plastic feel of the super 90
