Hopup question
I've just loaded my brand new CA36E and started testing her out. After setting out a box at around 6m and doing some target practice, I've noticed that my hopup at its maximum setting only seem to increase the point of impact for the BBs by ~4 cm. Is that how much difference a hopup should make? I'm shooting 0.25g BBs, but at less than 6m, I'd have thought that there should be a lot less of a drop. Does the hopup need some time to be broken in or do I need lighter BBs?

Hopup I find really doesnt matter all that much @ close range. Try doing some long distance shots if ya can. 80ft or so would be a good distance to try it out on.

Ah, thanks. Also, it appears that my scope's default calibration is waaay high, creating the false impression that I'm shooting lower than I should.

Again, remember that the gun is set for longer ranges than what you are using. You did not say where you were testing, but if it's in your basement your range is not high enough.
Another point; airsoft are not very accurate compared to other guns you may have tried before. They never will be. So forget what you already know about guns and learn again from scratch. Honestly, not joking. I have decades of 'real gun' experience, and I had to re-learn a whole new set of technical and ballistic knowledge when I started this game. |

Sorry to disagree, but there is no way in hell you can upgrade an airsoft to even come close to the performance of the real thing it's copied after.
That is a proven fact. Now you can improve the accuracy and range, but still nowhere close to even a decent BB gun. |
