Thoughts: Well G55

Hey forum,

So recently, I've had a friend offer to sell me a Well G55 (Or their GBB Mp5K model) for $50.

I've seen some pretty mixed opinions and reviews online, with some saying it's great, and some saying it's terrible.

The most amount of factual evidence I can seem to salvage that all can agree on is that it has a blistering rate of fire and that the mags suck at holding in gas.

Does anyone here own one, or has owned/handled one in past? For the price, I'm tempted, but I want to know if it's worth even that.

If it's pertinent, he's selling it with 3 mags.

Thanks!

Well

Dont buy anything made by Well!! Especially if they are a GBB! The mags are a nightmare for leaking!

I heard the mags are a pretty quick fix with a few o-rings and a bit of teflon, though.

Is there any quirks of the gun itself? From what I understand, there's no bolt catch, and the cocking handle doesn't actually reciprocate along with the nozzle and bolt group, meaning it keeps firing until it runs out of gas or until you lay off the trigger.

But that's the only thing I found wrong, save for maybe all-plastic construction. Jarek4 (Blasphemy, I know), Chairsoft Press, Arnies, and Airsoft Retreat all gave it pretty high ratings, but other people and other forums have complained that it's not worth the money.

I am confus.

Not to sound impatient, but does anyone have any info?

After a bit more research, it seems the Maruzen Mp5K (The one this is cloned from) explodes off Green Gas, but the Well can take it. Wait, what?

The window to buy is closing fast, so I'd really appreciate anything right now.

It's $50, just buy it. Worst case scenario it becomes a wall hanger.

That's pretty much why I bought two.

OP: As you've heard, the magazines aren't worth shit. Even with gasket maker they refused to be sealed. Rate of fire is ridiculous, and I'd heard of nozzles breaking, but when I bought mine (2 years agoish) they each came with an extra nozzle. I ended up selling them both with less than 500 rounds through em, so I can't really comment on their durability.

Fair enough.

Okay.

Thank you to everyone!

Additional question: does anyone know if MadBull fill valves will fit in G55 mags?

I was informed two magazine fill valves were missing their stems, so I will need replacements.
