MEU(SOC): Recoil spring upgrade, no slide lock
Hi,
I've just installed my Airsoft Surgeon MEU upgrade kit. Now, the slide doesn't lock back on empty (on manual either). Seeing as the recoil spring is not only stiffer but also longuer, I believe it's just the spring lenght that causes the problem. Before shortening the spring, I'd like a confirmation on that? Also, is there anything special I should do for cutting the spring? (like cutting it at a particular place). Thanks! Conker

If the airsoft surgeon spring is the same as theirs for their 5.1 kit, then yes, it needs to be trimmed.

Yes, it's the same kit for 5.1/4.3/1911A1/MEU.
Is there any specific way to cut it, redoing the "flat end", etc...?

Same problem here, slide didn't travel all the way back. Gotta trim the spring, I ended up just using the guarder upgrade spring that was in there when I bought it

You'll need to clip some coils off the spring.
Also, good luck having enough gas to lock the slide back after emptying the mag... that spring is insanely heavy unless you clip off a good number of coils. OR... upgrade to a Nova steel spring plug. The problem is with the inner diameter of the Marui spring plug... it tapers off as it goes in, and the spring ends up not being able to go all the way to the bottom. |
