Velocity Reducers
Alright so my problem here is that my Kraken shoots roughly 370 FPS and the velocity limit for where I play is 320 FPS with a .20 gram BB.
I have looked at velocity reducers on various sites, but none provide a description on how they work and if it would suit my needs as I am getting sit of using rental MP5K's. Anybody know information that could assist me in a valid purchase? |

The concept is simple really, Im not sure what is so difficult to understand.
When you purchase a velocity reducer, you are purchasing an item that would go on the end of your barrel in place of the flash hider. How the velocity reducer works is very simple, inside are...lets call them disks with holes, these disks with holes have a...a screw it, just read this you Im sure you will understand afterwards. http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_inf...roducts_id=302

just be sure to check where you play to see if they are accepted. because here they dont allow them because the are ineffective in full auto... if you want to be on the safe side you could always reduce the fps by putting a prometheus ms100 spring in it

I have one, and find it ineffective. It works for semi, but the reduction in FPS isn't exact.
Just get a softer spring. I have a modify S90 in my G36s, shoots a little over 300. IMO That would be just about perfect for what you need.

The current place that I play at doesn't allow full auto so that isn't an issue. Thanks for the many quick replies.

Hmm, even without full auto, i would still go for the spring change, Maybe my velocity reducer was faulty, but i found its results Erratic

Do these velocity reducers have a long life time? I would like to swap out my stock spring for a 90% spring but I don't have experience in messing with the mechbox of an airsoft gun.

Velocity recuders wear out overtime, the higher the current FPS the more wear the reducer will experience. Your location is in Alberta, Im sure you can find a local Guntech in your area here on ASC or on the JOC forums who can do the simple spring change for you.

plus another ~20 for a gundoc to install it. Is there anyone who you play with who could install it for you? Its really basic, if you were feeling confident, you could probably do it yourself

Modify S90 should do it is what i would use, That should put you just above 300 FPS
EDIT:http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...roducts_id=884 Thats what i would use, If it turns out to put you slightly above 320, turn it around

I think I will be taking the S90 spring approach because it seems much more effective and I have been itching to take apart my AK. Thanks for the help everyone.
