Star M4, experience
Hi all, im not new to this forum but i only recently signed up for it
Now im wondering, I want to purchase an AEG in the near future..i only have a ggb and hate being dependant on gas... Now i've been looking into the Star m4 wich costs €290 which translates to 455 canadian dollars... my question now is: is it good, I cant really find reviews, except for 1 on youtube and 1 on arnie's... so should i buy that, or just the TM Sig 552 'cause i like the look of that too, it costs €270--> 425 CAD i just want to add, it's purely for plinking in an around the house, airsoft is illegal here in Holland (i know..we can smoke weed...but airsoft is much more dangerous), but my sister lives in Paris, so thats where i will keep the weapon.. THX ps. this is my first thread (2nd post) so be gentle

Reviews on STAR ARs are rare indeed. These two are the best I've seen thus far.

thx saint, also for the fast reply :P
However the first one from airsoftretreat is actually the same as on Arnie's, I read it 1000's of times:P i could recognise it from a line-up But no-one on the asc has experience with these guns? and overal would you recommencd the Star or the TM Sig, this is my first Aeg...maybe i should play safe and go for the TM..just like The Asset in The Bourne Ultimatum

TM (Tokyo Marui) is always a safe bet if you cant decide on the star m4.

I know if been reading up on AEG's for two years now...since i can probably only buy one once...as it is illegal in Holland and i cant take it home...
But the Star seems like such a good deal...ful metal, and it has the quick spring change + the real bolt that can move...

I'd say go with the TM sig 552. I still have my 552, and have owned the star m4, and was not very happy with anything about the star. The TM will definately out last the star.

It sounds like Holland has comparable laws to what we have here in Canada. (although in Canada ownership is legal, import and sales are illegal).
I'm sorry to hear that your situation is bad like ours. |

Although I can't speak for the STAR I would definitely recommend the Sig...definitely a great gun.

STAR M4
Although its in Japanese it will give you an idea about the star capabilities and what mods you can do to it. I do not own a Star m4 personally but one of my teammates does and he seems to really enjoy the Stars performance as well as finish. The gun itself shoots equally to that a of a TM M4 so dont be frighten off by Star's M4 because of their other products that aren't so sturdy. Hope this helps. @ azatoth: I think laws here are a bit more f*cked up, i know its expensive in Canada but here its completely illegal...i dont know if any of you know the term ''Nordic Walking'' bu even thats illegal here because the walkin kane's are considered to be weapons..(yeah i know, its crazy...smoke pot all you want here but an elderly activity)
however, on-topic..i think i'll just go with the TM then, i already bought a scope, (3-9x40) so I can go for the Bourne Ultimatum look and i will have a reliable weapon out of the box. question: how complicated are AEG's because i have totally stripped my HFC g26 and it was fairly complicated, however i'm a patient guy and it worked out for the best:P also i dont need that much fps because its for inside... the ver. 3 gearbox and eg1000 are also a +... I made up my mind then..:P it is going to be a bit more expensive overall then the Star: in euro's Tm 552: -270 Rail: -30 silencer: -30 (+/-) scope rings -15 light mount -18 _____________+ €363,- cad 570,- Star M4 -290 scope rings -15 silencer -30(+/-) light mount -8 (mounted under barrel, like agent mahone from PB has in BHD) ______________+ €343 cad 540 as you can see i want a total package, and this obviously doesnt include battery, charger and bb's. It's more a collectors item to me also for visual effect, hence the scope and light and stuff anyway thats about the plan.. does it look good? I certanly think so ps. goldy, the link didnt work..but thx anyway for ur 2 cents

No, thank you. After running that review through the translator at dictionary.com, I learned a few things about the STAR that no English review covered, and a few things the English reviews might be completely off on.

Like what?
the translator didnt work for me... i might reconsider the Star M4 as it is cheaper, full metal and i really like the Armalites...
