Looking for a good flashlight on a budget

I was hoping that someone could shed some light on a few questions that I have.

I'm lookin for a flashlight that has a nice, tight beam that can reach out as far as possible. The current light I have has a pretty bad bulb, and the light seems to dissipate after 20 meters or so.

Basically looking for a flashlight that can illuminate to a generously long distance so I can light someone up from far away and trace my BBs among other things.

I'm not looking to spend a lot, say $80 max before tax for a light. I already have mounting hardware.

Seeing that I don't have the luxury right now to see some flashlights in person, I was hoping some of you could light a path to a good flashlight.

I've taken a look at a Night Evolution M300B scout light. It looks promising, the quality looks nice. Anyone know if it's any good?

I've got a couple night evolution lights. In my experience they are solid - work well and don't seem cheaply made or anything. I can't definitively say they will provide all the illumination you want but I've certainly spent money on worse airsoft products.

Fenix, they have a lot of decent lights at a decent price.
I'd say yer around 100 bucks for a light and a pressure switch depending on the model but the tk15 I have from them was 80 or 90 plus 20 for the pressure switch.
It has 4 brightness settings and strobe. I think they have replaced the tk15 with a different light however I don't recall the model number, it has similar features and such.
Around 800-1000 lumens and runs off of an 18650 or 2xCR123.
Prety sure army issue has a decent selection of fenix lights at good prices. They are at lakeshore road and stavebank road in mississauga.

There are a lot of nice lights out there a lot of over priced crap too. If your life won't potentially depend on it every day then I don't see a need to spend much more than your budget, unless you need a battery and a charger and mount and such.
I think the current TK16 is the same specs as my TK15. The TK15 they show there would also be a great light provided 400 lumens is bright enough for you (it should be, 1000 is car high beam kind of bright lol) then those could be a good option.

Fenix is great for the price
I have the pd35, after having owned many Chinese repros and Chinese "originals"

The pd35 was close to 10times the price as the Chinese stuff (all the "something fire " for instance), but totally worth the monies

Chinese lights, they work, they're bright, but aluminium is so soft that you risk to strip the threads every time you screw the switch back on

The switches are so finicky that a small shock risk to unsolder the connections, resulting in a dead switch, or a switch that will intermittently turn on/off or change mode as you shake the light

And I'm not even talking about heat management and quality of the led driver

In short, I had tens of Chinese lights at 10-15$, even 30-40$; none worked well more than a year or two, some failed in their first week

I got the Fenix PD35 for about 100$
-120$ with pressure pad for more than 4 years now and it work as if it were new

I'm using a PD35 Tactical edition with Fenix mount and Fenix AER-02 pressure switch. Got a great deal for it. I use it for work as well so it's not single purpose. One of those things you can buy well and buy once... or if you just use it once in a blue moon for airsoft then you may be able to cheap out.

I have a fenix with pressure switch and element qd rail mount... total cost is probably about 80$ after tax. When not on my gun it's my edc light I leave in my bag or car.

Can't do that with some of those surefire clones as the rail mount is part of the light body, but if that's all you need, 60~$ is what you're looking at for that.

Thanks for the replies, I guess Fenix is a safe and budget friendly way to go.

IF it makes any difference, it will be mounted on a rifle, not a pistol, so the suggestions above work for me.

Ultrafire's a clone of another reputable brand. I got mine cheap for about $20 dollars including batteries and charger. See if you find one that fits you off of DX.

what kind of beam pattern are you looking for? maximum throw (aspherical lens) or hot spot and spill (like a "regular" flashlight)
