WW2 Loadout

I've been looking at a few airsoft videos of some large scale WW2 simulations and the Kar98 gas has caught my attention! Is there a specific brand of greater quality and reliability than another? I would be new to a gas airsoft rifle but the idea of the upkeep for some reason excites me, maybe adds to the realism.

Please let me know your thoughts!

As far as i know Maruzen is the only one that currently makes the Kar98k. G&G has one coming out sometime in 2011. The Maruzen one is available in both 6mm and 8mm shell ejecting versions. The downside to shell ejecting is that after your shots your gonna have to pick up the shells.

For your first GBBR i wouldn't recomend it if you were planning on using it in a game. From what ive heard about them their quite finicky and require a lot of care. Most people that own them don't field them in games. Their more of a collector's peice.

Tanaka made one sometime ago, hard to find but super nice.
Dboys made one, nice wall-hanger is all it is, same with the Maruzen. They both take different shells, pain in the arse to load and shoot.

As said above, G&G is releasing one hopefully soon, looks promising but we'll have to wait and see how it turns out.

Tanaka is supposedly re-releasing theirs, not a whole lot is said right now.

Best bet is the AGM/Cybergun MP40 or MP/STG44 if you are wanting to do a German Impression.
