MP5 wich one?

Hi guys! I would like to buy a mp5 as a back up gun and for my Gf but there are many version so what do you think? I'd like to install a tracer unit for the night games so a sd would not be a good idea the main problem is mostly about the stock. should i get a collapsible or a full stock. Does the full stock version can get a bigger battery then the collapasble one or is there the same space in the front guard? I was thinking about getting a G&G max because the review i have read seems pretty good or should I wait getting aved in march when I will go to montreal for the Mill scenario and Buy it on ASC? Is there really a bigger and better choice on ASC even if most of the guns are 'used'?

thanks and sorry for my bad english

TM flat out, battery size is up to you, full size in a full stock, mini only in a retractable stock version (in the foregrip, although there are aftermarket foregrips you can add that will take a large battery, and mount anything you like on it including turn signal lights). SD would be good for your tracer unit, but also keeps you at the 229mm inner barrel length. if you never use a tracer unit, you can install a 330mm inner barrel and get 20fps higher velocity.

And, apologizing for your english is not required, there are guys on here that have english only as their language, and totally bugger up the typing, all the way to a 300 word post with no capital letters or punctuation, and sound like retards by the way they type.

In other words "U dun gud!"

Full stock = big, all day, no issues battery = WIN

I'd get a CA and give the mechbox a once over. Just cause it's a metal upper receiver/cocking tube. TM's are very nice though.

I wouldn't be so quick to recommend a TM, unless it's an MP5K you're after. The hop up is on the OUTSIDE, meaning its easy accidentally change it and its exposed to the elements. The Magwell can split in half and become loose, permanently decreasing FPS.Take down is also a pain the ass, there's like a million screws you have to remove to get to the gearbox, which is a version 2 which is notorious for breaking. The MP5K pretty much solves all of the aforementioned issues, though is still shoot <300 FPS, making it less than ideal for outdoor play. G&G and ICS makes Mp5s that are more conducive to outdoor play.

Find yourself a CYMA MP5, the last gen is full metal, has a proper MP5 weight, and they are extremelly durable.
Two of my buddies had MP5K Galaxy and TM and bought a CYMA after my advice, they will never buy another brand ever again, for AEG at least.

Most need a downgrade but it's a very very small "price" to pay.

I'll take a TM stock mechbox over a CYMA/China gun mashup anyday. Haha

As a retired gun tech, I have only every owned two AEGs in my career of airsoft, a TM MP5SD-A5 and a TM MP5A5, both were very reliable when cared for, and regardless of the hop up adjustment lever being on the outside (aka, under the foregrip), they have never wandered from handling. If they needed adjustment, was quick and painless to do on the fly. Magwell separating won't decrease fps since it's not a component of the airseal throughout the gun. Yes, there are a pile of parts and screws to remove just to get to the hop up, and all that is about 7/8ths of the way to removing the mechbox, but from my experience, this makes it much more solid and accurate/constant than any Armalite, since there are three secure points on the inner barrel compared to the Armalite's single point of securing. Sensable upgrades for an MP5 and avoiding the 400fps limit (which many player consider a goal) will prolong the V2 mechbox, as will buying a cheap Modify reinforced mechbox to install even the cheap stock parts in. And if I can get 0.28g BBs past 200ft with a relatively stock MP5A5 shooting 0.20g BB at 360fps.................... ya, your last theory point has also been crushed as per the rest of your advice.

That's the thing, it's gotta remain mostly stock to be reliable. I'm a tinkerer at heart so not my cup of tea.

Which is totally understandable. I'm the same, but this gun isn't intended for long range shooting anyway, I've got a collection of other guns for such an occasion.

For being a CQB gun, I think its absolutely fine stock. Shoots straight and hard enough to pinch.

Errrr... Bluescreen of death : I will not speak for the brands I do not know well "out of factory" but CYMA is in no way like your "mashup mechbox" today.
It was true on old lines and such, I will not say the contrary ('cause it's true). But they have elvolve a LOT since then. The chinese "knock-off" is still very accurate, especially on GBB/GBBR but on AEG a lot of guns from A&K and CYMA don't have anything to envy to "great" brands but the lack of outdated piece-of-crap-stigma.

Just received my TM MP5SD5. Havent shot it yet, but ROF is great (quick dry fire, forgivable). It is plastic, but let me tell ya, its good quality plastic. Better than the GNG's and JG's i owned in the past. Just my opinion though.

I recently got my hands on a CA MP5SD6 which is a ton of fun - I highly recommend it!
