in a few weeks my kit will be some what ready to go. Ill be using 1960's BDU's but they are close enough to used for airsoft.

Yes, they would be for a lower level impression. But for a level 1 impression, that is supposed to be at least 80 percent accurate, they would not be. But ya, for your average airsoft game, no worries.

whats wrong with the 1950's 1960's battledress? it looks close enough... and its cheaper to. I got my set for only $100 versus paying $400 for an authentic ww2 battledress. Its also a shame to want to wreck a historic item like that =/
once the badges are sewn on ill take some pics, and im sure you will see its fine to use for a level1

First off, it's not historically accurate. Read the requirements for a level 1 event. Period accurate is kind of the deciding factor. If you want to attend level 1 events, you're going to shell out what you need to attend said events. Why should you who is sporting a '50's or '60's cold war era bdu set that you cheaped out on get to be associated with guys who are donning period accurate gear, equipment, weapons etc that put together an "accurate" kit.

Sorry, level 1 is not "close enough".

Second, if you don't want to wear period issue gear, buy repro. There is no way in hell I'd wear a period tunic, no matter what side to any event. They're too hard to come in either case.

Put the effort in and you will see its well worth it.

You can easily get repro 1940 battle dress set for under 200$

It is probably best to ask the organizers(s) of the Level 1 event as to what is acceptable in regards to uniforms, gear and weapons.

Opinion on historical accuracy varies from person to person.

"Close Enough" has a place in Level 1 events (e.g. DMS Boots).

WW2 airsoft and "Historical Accuracy" don't mesh well at times. Allies are generally more of mixed bag (resistance, British AB, Canadian AB, 506th, etc all on the same field)...haha, when did that ever happen?
