hey yall, i just got and put in my new bolt upgrade in my CA m24

its nuts!!!!!!!! haha
with .20 it broke a beer bottle and went clean through a full beer can.
but the trigger pull is so hard i almost break myfinger, got any suggestions on a new trigger set up or something i cant do to fix it?
and who knows how hard that is (APS300 % spring)?
oh and what weightof bb's doyou reccommend for best preformance?

oh and stalker, what size is that hopup allen screw?

Remove your safety. Put some white litium grease inside the trigger mecanisme. I did that to mine after a good cleaning and the trigger was way smooter. It's still pretty hard, but it don't hurt my finger anymore.

When you pull back on the bolt, make sure you hold it well, in a manner not to twist the handle and break the back part of the bolt. Hard to explain the right technique, but I think you will figure it out.

Fox has it right, remove the safety lever and the pin that mates it to the trigger. Pair of pliers on it and yank. It won't harm anything, but will GREATLY lighten up and smooth the trigger pull.

Avoid the PDI 300% spring, it is impossible to cock the gun (aka. have to put the muzzle on your foot, shoulder into the stock and reef on it) as well it'll end up destroying your gun (will ram the hop up unit hard each shot, forcing it forward and stripping out the securing screws). It'll also spit out BBs at over 550fps. If you want upwards of 500fps, go with a (First Factory) Laylax 150SP spring. It's very nice to cock and doesn't destroy the gun.

Best BBs are 0.29g SGM, or non-graphite/graphite washed off Straight 0.30g and 0.36g BBs. 0.43g are pretty heavy to use unless you are shooting 150ft away. Don't expect to get a lot of range out of them.

Hop up adjust screw allen key? Can't say, I've always just gone with the one that fits. Make sure you buy a set of long (as in ball end, about 5" long allen keys that fit into a screwdriver type handle) allen keys, they will make life a hell of a lot easier for you adjusting the hop up. Using a dinky little allen key will be frustrating for you.

Cocking it properly, total must! Grasp the cocking handle over the top, place your thumb on the handle boss (backside of the cylinder), rotate about 45deg, pull back then slide it forward. Don't ram it forward, you could damage the BB going into the chamber, and if no more BBs you'll screw up your mag follower, driving it into the fragile feed lips of the mag. If that happens, you'll be double loading BBs all the time.

the bolt i have came with every thing in it so im just gonna leave it alone as is.

oh and on mine the screw that holds the hop up in place doesnt have any threads in it any more haha, it came like that i just have a bit bigger screw in there that is kinda holding itin place. i need to rethread it and im gonna make a second one too.

Ya, pretty much what mine came with. Shot 0.20g BBs around 550fps and was a bugger to pull, accuracy sucked ass. Only thing that remains in my gun is the cylinder & head now.

I suggest you get a BETTER spring. Hop on a WGC order and get a PSS2 Laylax XXXSP spring. They are marked in m/s, so just use an online unit converter to sort out what you are wanting. 130SP should be fine with that set up, might need a better piston and spring guide (of the bearing type). If you are going all the way, get the spring, bearing spring guide and the ultralight aluminim piston (it's blue, and buy the blue piston head). What you have will do for a bit, but the spring weakens over time and you won't get much consistancy or accuracy out of that set up.

Okay, I have a bit of a problem. I'm trying to sight my M40A1, with no adjustments to my scope, and about 120ft away from say a rim with a tire, I have to aim up and to the left. Should I get lower scope mount. Mine are high, would medium make adjustments for sighting easier?

Do you mean to say that rather than adjusting your scope for elevation and such, your thinking about changing your mounts?

It would be easier to just adjust the scope. rings should be used to set the scope at a comfortable position to you. If you could still shoot comfortably with low-mounts, then by all means go for it. But remember that it won't totally fix your sighting issues.

As long as your scope is adjested it should be fine.. Mounts raise the height of the scope itself. they do not affect the aiming im pretty sure..

My mind is yelling at me that higher sights does negatively affect aiming, but at 4AM it can't seem to explain it to me beyond the simple fact that higher sight makes for higher aim.
