EOTech Tint.

I got an EOtech ZX-553 off Airsoftdepot recently. I love the sight and all, but there is one major flaw with it: tinting. The lens is quite heavily tinted and it really does obstruct vision in dim to dark environments. I was wondering, is there anyway to get rid of this tint?

Any input is much appreciated.

The real EO-Tech does not have any tint. Might be a clone thing?

Are you keeping both eyes open? In the dark it should act like a occluded eye sight and your brain will print the reticle on the target.

All clones have that problem... that is the way the cheap RDS (yes, it is not an holo sight) works...

I got rid of my 552 because of that... nothing to do. If you remove the coating, it will damage the glass and you won't see the dot anymore.

i have a replica 552 eotech sight aswell and i use yellow tinted lenses heres some really good 460 fps approved glasses that work great with an eotech

I have seen some clone Eotech's with no tint,but I think it was some of the older ones. I didn't care for any of the clone ones,they have too many issues. I ended up buying a real one.

If you're set on getting a clone to save money, then get a Hurricane clone. They have the least issues out there, and are built to very high quality. No tinting and no ghosting issues.

Beyond that, you can't "get rid" of the tint.

That tinting is how the reticle is displayed on the cheap clones. Real optics like aimpoints and eotechs do not have that tinting.
