Grease recommendation
Just wondering what kind of grease everyone uses when reassembling their mechboxes? Lithium grease on the gears and silicon on the cylinder-piston assembly?

I use G&P grease-oil kit that has every needed : bearing grease, gear grease, cylinder grease and bought silicon oil separately for hop-up and mag. I used systema grease too.

I used to use white lithium grease on everything where grease was needed, but the past two years I've been using Gun Slick's Annhydrous Graphite Lube on just about everything (yes, have even used it on piston head O-rings as well as my CA M24's rubber piston head and has not degraded the rubber at all over a two year duration)............ works amazing on GBB slide rails, and 20 or 30 weight silicon oil where oil is needed.

White Lithium Grease on the gears and CA piston grease. I would like to find a cheap silicone based grease to use on the piston tough as the CA is expensive for the small amount.

Look on the inside, There might be a screw head on the inside you need to hold in place with a flat screw driver.

White lithium for gears
G&P for bearings Guarder for cylinder But I usually just use the G&P stuff, since theres 3 seperate bottles for cylinder, bearings and gears. But I find the guarder lasts longer in my cylinder than the G&P

I've got two kinds of grease.
One is a lithium grease from CT that comes in a foot long tube, but it's a pale pale yellow, almost like vaseline. The other is an automotive grease from a spray can that's white. I know that description is really, really vague, but anyone know if those would work well (I know the lithium one does work (how well, I don't know) as I've used it before). Thanks, Alex

I use the G&P kits because they're convenient and cheap, but if you can find it, SuperLube (also called ViperLube) is the bomb for AEG gears.

I cant believe its taken me 5 hours and counting to get the piston head screw out, and it still wont budge.
What a waste of a day off. |

At least that works for TM stock piston heads, others require other means............ CA pistons are the worst, they need a retarded small nutdriver of some unGodly size long enough to reach into the piston body. At least the CA SCAR piston is like that. Still, if replacing a shitty CA piston with a better one, replace the shitty piston head with a better type as well. |
