Quick update:

I've wired up my rifle with a Trigger Master (Mk1) MOSFET (made by DonP...awesomely helpful). I did it while recovering from a wicked flu...so I was kind of worried that I'd mess it up getting it all right. I wanted to run the lipo in the stock tube and run a Magpul CRT stock...so no room in back for the MOSFET. With a heavy 1 piece barrel and a Noveske 7" rail...there wasn't much space up front to tuck it away up front either. With the two larger SMD's of the MOSFET oriented in the channel where the gas tube would normally be...the unit just fit after I removed the heavy shrink wrap (sub'd in black electrical tape).

So...the 2 trigger wires and motor wires go from the mech out the front to the FET mounted on the barrel, tucked under the RIS. Two more wires...the battery leads...travel back through the barrel, around the side of the mechbox and out the stock tube. Not the best job...but not the worst.

I bought a LiPo voltage indicator circuit at Hobby Hobby out in Miss. It was around $20 and reads 1-6S. It cycles through displaying each cell's voltage and then the total pack voltage. I can plug it into the balancing tap through then end of the CRT stock to check the pack voltage without having to remove the stock...which is nice.

The Trigger Master MOSFET has a low voltage indicator. When first plugged in, the unit will measure the voltage of the pack. When the voltage reaches 84% of it's initial voltage, the unit will send warning signals to the AEG...the motor ends up vibrating like a cell phone. So with fully charged pack (12.6v) would have a warning at 10.6V...a 11.1v pack would have a warning at 9.3v.

I've blown through several more hundreds of rounds in testing the new setup and I'm at 11.3v. I'm going to shoot mostly semi with this rig...but having a 3 round burst, especially at a high ROF like this, is nice because you'll empty a mag pretty quick on full auto.

I'm going to play around with the Trigger Master now and see if I can't slow down the motor speed a bit.

I didn't count how many rounds have gone through it so far...I'll start over again with the next round of testing. And if I can figure out how how to take a decent picture I'll photograph some of it...
