TM 1911's are $300 + your choice of a wide variety of Guarder aluminum slides starting from $50 US (eBay).
You can run the gun on propane until the slide breaks (may take a while), then you can get a metal slide and new recoil/hammer springs.
Enjoy a nice crisp abs gun until you need to upgrade.
