Goldman, these barrels have an inner coating on them, so cutting them down *may* cause that to flake/chip. Might be better to go with plain brass or SS...I have no experience with these particular barrels, but back in the day when I used to play paintball I had a number of "coated" barrels - all the ones I cut down eventually suffered from bubbling/flaking/peeling of the coating, ruining the barrel. Just a word of warning....but I already threw $350 worth of barrels in the trash even after trying to buff out the inner coating, but maybe someone can learn (and save their cash) from my experiments?
