an 8.4V Battery should read about 9.8. Yes the hobbie guy was right.

A 9.6v 3000Mah should say about 12v because under load it will drop to 10-9.6V
If the battery is under or at 9.6V(For a 9.6V Battery) or 8.4V (For a 8.4V Battery)
Fully Charged, your battery isnt working right and might be toast
