basic upgrades aside from heavy bbs are:
Tightbore:
Prometheus, or KM are your best bet for mid level pricing. Madbull is your best bet for low-level pricing. and PDI is your best bet for high-end pricing. In terms of performance, they are all relatively equal, with Prometheus and PDI being tied, and KM being a close competitor (most reviews say equal).
Spring:
While power is necessary, i wouldn't play with the power and keep the gun stock for the first year. This will let you get a feel for BA sniping and not put too much wear on your gun
Hop-up:
Upgrade the hop-up rubber after a year or two, or if you upgrade the power of your gun, upgrade the rubber.
In short, the only real basic upgrades you can do, are a Tightbore and heavy bbs. you may want to consider upgrading the spring, but expect the longevity of your rifle to decrease without further (internal) upgrades
