it is PSD!
PSD !!!! (Private Security Detail) |
what's the difference?
|
PMC (private military contractor) is a job while PSD (private security detail) is a type of mission that can be conducted by all kind of military force. Seals, Rangers, US army, Marines and whoever else can be assigned to PSD if needed.

PSD is originally a military term which stands for: Protective Services Detail. It is a US Army term and can be found in various U.S. Army Field Manuals and training materials. It would not be correct to suggest a 'military force' is providing 'private security' because they do not operate as part of the private sector. PSD can also mean: Protective Security Detail, Personal Security Detachment, Personal Security Detail, and usage depends on who is being protected, who is providing the protection, and/or the security environment itself. BTW, Meindl boots rock. Hope this helps. |
