Airsoft in Public

I was wondering if i can have an airsoft battle in a rarely used public park or just a random ravine in ontario. The guns i am using are just the cheap crosman canadian tire guns. All of them are clear and have orange tips.

Mr.Shiney August 28th, 2009 19:12

Exactly HOW STUPID ARE YOU, can I have a gasoline party in your living room?

Mitchell12 August 28th, 2009 19:13

No way I want to have a Napalm Party instead, It's way more fun!

blackcaddi August 28th, 2009 19:14

You should not do it in any public property. Only in private areas.

warner15 August 28th, 2009 19:17

wow. calm down. i thought they were considered toys and my backyard isnt big enough

Whenever a minor asks why we restrict access to real airsoft guns from them, this thread should be mentioned.

Forever_kaos August 28th, 2009 19:19

No, if they were considerd Toys you'd find them in Wal-Fart.

They are replica firearms man, treat them like a real thing.

no. just because an area is rarely used and or just a random area does not give you permission to use airsoft guns in a public place. also, just because they are cheap clear crapsoft doesn't they can be used in public. being clear with orange tips means little to nothing.

you registered in 2007 so one would have assumed that you've been lurking and reading. clearly you haven't so please spend some time in the FAQ.

And what if someone walk by, and get shot in the eye...

And what if someone see a bunch of teens shooting each other with guns from far away and can't make out what kind of guns they are... police will be called for sure.

If I saw anyone shooting airsoft or crapsoft on the street or in a park, I'd call the police and give a description. Those BBs put a dent in car paint and can hurt bystanders. It's simple public safety.

ONLY if you bring lot's of pre-rolled joints to hand out.

edit: ok check local bylaws concerning firearm and BB gun firing in your areas.

As already said, better in private areas away from possible (not likely maybe, but possible) encounters with public or cops.

jamuke August 28th, 2009 19:38

don't suggest illicit drugs,
bring booze, the gov't sells it so it's got to be OK to get trashed

Mr.Shiney August 28th, 2009 19:40

What you are suggesting is not only obviously stupid but horridly illegal. It could include the following legal issues Trespassing for Provincial Law, and various local bylaw, as for Criminal Code Offences see below:

Section 175 CAUSING DISTURBANCE, INDECENT EXHIBITION, LOITERING
Section 180 COMMON NUISANCE
Section 63 UNLAWFUL ASSEMBLY
Section 86 CARELESS USE OF A FIREARM
Section 87 POINTING A FIREARM
Section 88 POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR DANGEROUS PURPOSE
Section 89 CARRYING A WEAPON WHILE ATTENDING A PUBLIC MEETING
Section 90 CARRYING A CONCEALED WEAPON
Section 91 UNAUTHORIZED POSSESSION OF A FIREARM
Section 219 CRIMINAL NEGLIGENCE

and that is without anyone getting hurt.

Also that if forgetting the ERT/ETF/TRU Factor - So go ahead and play your games in public spaces, in that backlot, empty park or such. But when you shit yourself, as a REAL MP5 is pointed at you, please do not bitch.

If you honestly really care about this sport, and want to be involved you need to be RESPONSIBLE, and act with a STANDARD OF CARE.

If you are 18+ maybe you should reconsider your approach. If you are a not, and some kid, looking to play. There is a reason why 18+ is a benchmark on ASC

1) In Ontario and other locations you must be 18 to purchase or have care and control over an airgun.
2) As an Adult you are fully able to consent to, and enter into any activity or contract without restrain.
3) As an Adult you can be held fully liable and responsible for your actions.

So please consider that your fun, might end up being someone else's injury, which might put our sport at risk.

I will now holster my flamethrower, put the pin back in that thermite grenade and soak up that gasoline I poured out - HEY anyone seen my lighter???

Well, my friend's 12 year old brother and his friends got taken down by SWAT because they were playing with Nerf dart guns.. and some neighbour reported a bunch of kids with weapons.

Use common sense. Chances are if you have to ask if its a good idea, it isn't.
