Hi-Capa Mag leak repair
 

Today I took a hi-capa mag out for some plinking and when I started to fill it the mag began to leak from the fill valve. I let the mag empty and started thinking about the 50 dollars I was going to have to spend. Then I decided I'd take it apart and soak the valve and o-rings in silicone oil for 20 minutes. Well I've put it back together and tada! It's working I can expend a full mag's worth of BB's on one tank fill.

My question is, is this just a temporary fix? Will the mag continue to leak through an inaudible slow leak or have I really fixed the problem? I think the issue is that I have one of those Madbull Aluminum adapters with the silicone oil reservoir that you fill every once in a while as opposed to every 8 mag fills. Does anyone have a ballpark figure on how often to refill the reservoir to avoid drying out seals? Either way I'll pay better attention to that in the future.

it will only leak if the main seal that you soaked goes dry. if you want to be sure, dunk that end of the mag in water and see if you notice any bubbles. you should be fine though. maintain the seals with proper lubing and always keep some gas in the mag when storing.

Yeah so far so good seems to be holding fine no slow leak. I've always been careful with these mags (i.e. always lubing the valves/making sure to leave gas in the mag) that damn reservoir slipped my mind, I guess I'll go back to dropping a couple drops every 8 fills.
