Peg BOard....How to?

So I have come to the conclusion that its time that I pick up all my airsoft and paintball guns off the floor in my room and den and hang them on peg board. I bought said peg board a few days ago and now I have no idea how to properly hang it. I need some help guys. If I just screw it into the walls at the corners it will be flush with the wall and hen how would the pegs/hooks etc be secure. Any help would be most appreciated. I've seen photo in the show us your armoury post oof gus on peg board, so I know some of you know how to hang it. Thanks

Get a length of 1x1 or 2x2. Cut 3 lengths the same height as the pegboard - one for each end, and one for support in the centre. Measure, then mount the wood to the wall. Then screw the pegboard to the wood.

Will the board then be able to support the guns or will they tear through it?

Not last I looked in my closet. All those guns are metal and very heavy.

Thanks man, oh ya where did you get pegs?

If your place has dry wall, I suggest you look for the studs and screw the screws in there.

I had them for a long time. I used leftovers from another pegboard project to build this. I don't remember for sure where I got the pegs, but either Canadian Tire or Home Depot. They both carry them.

+1. I screwed 1 1x1 into a stud, but had to use drywall anchors to secure the other 2, since they didn't line up with the studs. I installed mine vertically though because of the orientation of the pegboard in the closet. It's best if you can put the mounts horizontally so you can screw them right into the studs.

Crunch we tried to explain how to build omething to a guy once for a game. Suprise, it fell down. Please if you do not know which end of the hammer points down do not attempt to hang peg board on drywall.
Slat wall or steel grid display, ask the guys at home dpot or rona.
Cheers
