If the all new TM SOPMOD M4 would ever be available here in Canada, how much do you guys think retailers would sell it for? Because that's one beautiful next gen. AEG. :)

Not to mention that it has its own custom battery and special mags.
Im sure the stock can be changed and electrical system can be rewired to take other batteries but your still buying new mags.

The mechanism that moves the faux bolt as it fires is in the back end of the gun, from the pictures I saw I'm not sure it can use standard buffer tubes. Should be able to attach a standard connector but you will still only be able to use batteries with the same form factor (very similar to PTW batteries.)

Ah, ye of little faith in the capitalist nature of the business.

If the mags are pricey, just start with a high cap, and soon enough companies like kings arms will be making mags for this. Not too mention, shortly after that, products that would allow you mount stocks of your choosing (if the stock buffer tube is a different size than the rest)

With a metal body, and the general quality of TM internals, (anyone know if their gearboxes will be beefed up at all to encourage purchase outside of the Japanese market where people like hotter guns?), $1000 doesn't actually sound like that bad of a price to me. Of course, I bought my plastic bodied TM M4 at $540, but that was before lower-cost/quality brands started showing up, driving the market prices down.

Also, I read a couple comments on other forums suggesting the bolt release was a mechanical-stop feature, rather than electronic? I wonder if this gun is rain friendly.

I have no idea on the internals but doesn't it shoot 320fps out of the box or something like that? Since the TM M14 I thought they where making guns that shot harder than 280fps.

Aftermarket parts like mags and such will come along eventually, I mean look at the Western Arms M4A1 GBB, G&P made so many aftermarket parts for it they now sell totally G&P M4A1 GBB's that are clones of WA with better material.

From what I could tell from the photos I saw a few weeks ago, there are no electronics in the gun at all, completely mechanical. Though I am not 100% sure on this.

Unlike the new ver.9 mechbox in the blowback AK's the SOPMOD uses a modified ver.2 so should be able to take mostly standard upgrade parts. The ver.9 mechboxes can't even use normal AEG springs for frigs sake.

M14's only shoot harder because of their design. They have the exact same spring as other stock TM guns.

And yes I believe the bolt stop feature is mechanical, not electronic.

'Fraid not. The SOPMOD's mechbox is so different that it's easier to list the non-backwards v2 compatible parts.

Just got mine. No sense posting pics since it's as stock as stock can be.
Anyone know of any developments in aftermarket parts down the road?

Can anyone compare the "kick" between this EBB and a WA/WE GBB?

my first guess is that an EBB will never produce the kick of a GBB.

but if that reduced impact can prolong the life of components then I would say that the tradeoff is worth it...
