First One Shot

I have been hearing a bunch of stuff about the "manly" rule of Airsoft: As the owner of a new gun, you MUST be the FIRST one shot with said gun. Was wondering if this was a widespread thing and if you guys had heard of it before.

Cheers,

John

I've heard of it. More of "You have to be shot with your airsoft gun at least once sometime".

Drache September 10th, 2008 17:40

Ive heard of that although I usually dismiss it when I buy a used gun thats already upgraded to "hot" status! :D

You buddies are messing with you...don't be an idiot.

You buy an AEG to shoot other people...

Honestly...there is still an education system in place isn't there?

As for being shot first. I never heard of that rule, but did ask one of my friends to shoot me at 15 feet when I first got my AEG to have a respect for it.

My dad asked me to do that to him once. He sure had a respect for the sport afterwards....

It'd be fun if we could convince some people of this in the real steel world :D, that'd help sort out the should and should not have PAL people.

Im one town where I played, any underage players (16 & 17) needed parental consent. They also have to come out to one of the games and get shot with an airsoft gun so they know how it feels and what their kid will be doing lol.

I'v been shot in the face with my own M24, but before I owned it. Does it count?

awww, it was love at first sight eh?

tycho September 10th, 2008 19:28

I always thought if you got shot by your own gun you were doing something very, very wrong :o

Skladfin September 10th, 2008 19:31

sometimes we do this for people with hot guns, 400FPS AEGs, 500FPS boltactions and what not.

its mainly to make the user realize what their gun is capable of, so that they would put more mind to safety.

I typically shoot myself with my gun to decide how bad it hurts. A marushin mossberg m500 on propane with .34g pellets to the leg really hurts while a tm aep doesnt :P

tycho September 10th, 2008 19:37

I know why people do it...I was making the funny :/
