Paintjob for my Systema

Finaly broke down and handed my Systema MAX to get a paint job.
The guy who is painting the gun is actually the same guy who painted the guns for the movie Shooter.

Extremely excited, and nervous at the same time.

Ill be sure to post pictures once the work is done.

Sounds pretty cool. What style camo you getting? And i loved shooter btw... damn am i jealous..

Bowers March 14th, 2008 14:19

i thought the same guy who painted the rifles was the marine scout sniper who was thier technical advisor?

seekah March 14th, 2008 14:57

Nope, the guy who painted the gun is a Canadian from Vancouver.
I can give out his handle on CGN, if your interested in talking with him.

As for the paint, its going to be for the temperate areas.
I gave him a green light to do whatever.

But its getting the full treatment, including a day in the oven.

~Ghost~ March 14th, 2008 15:29

out of curiosity how much is it costing you??

NickPoole March 14th, 2008 20:48

Im also wondering how mich it's costing you.

Ronan March 14th, 2008 20:53

A day in the oven? O.o

Hope your taking all the parts out first^^

Be sure to post pics, and yes how much did it cost you?

seekah March 14th, 2008 21:33

I forget how hot he said it would be in there, but he said its no hotter than a day in the desert.

As for cost, thats the part that is crazy, he is charging me $250 for the gun, and another $75 for the 13 mags.

Cheap in my opinion.

He is very excited to do an airsoft gun, so that may explain the cheap price.

Ronan March 14th, 2008 21:37

It's a oven... take all the parts out, why take a chance? If you fry them, u'll need to dish out a lot to replace them. I doubt SystemA will cover them when you tell them they fried in a oven^^ Also parts like the hop up will not like a 'hot day in the desert' ;)

And yes that's cheap, just make sure his paint isn't to thick, you don't want the mags to not go in anymore...

Rookie Ab March 14th, 2008 21:53

This guy doing the paint, does he work for the outfit that supplied all the prop guns for the movie? I know a couple of them ,just wondering if I know your painter ?

seekah March 15th, 2008 03:34

Sorry, forgot to mention that I did take the internals out.

As for his involvment with prop guns, I dont think so. He said this is his first time dealing with airsoft.

Awesome paint job but if it was mine i would like it a bit darker but with the same pattern, im thinkingabout doing something like this on my Well l96 but like i said darker.

seekah April 21st, 2008 19:25

Thanks for the comments guys.

I chose to go alittle lighter because I want to be able to use this gun with both my Cadpat and my Multicam.

The paintjob seems to work well with both.
