G26C recoil spring

OK,
I have a fantastic little Glock26C and a metal slide/barrel kit for it, but have one problem-
There's no recoil spring- the recoil spring it came with isn't strong enough to return the slide the whole way.

Anyways, with the stock recoil spring- I can't seem to be able to buy any upgraded ones of any sort.

Suggestions or ideas? I'm sick of having to push the slide forward with my thumb every time I cock it.

I'll be watching this because I've got a metal slide and barrel on the way and will probably be in the same boat. I wonder if the TM G26 springs could be used in our guns.

I certainly hope. I talked with the guy that designed the metal slide when I was in Hong Kong, apparently they're not actually sold- more custom-made by people with tools. :(

i bought one of the taiwan versions...i live in the US so it came with a metal slide without trades and the bright orange tip. at first i was pissed since im a trade whore but i think i really lucked out since i already have a spring set that works with metal slides...

Who makes it?

You can search around for this part

Redwolf is out of stock at the moment and I need to be runnin' out the door soon for work; so can't check the rest the sites ie. WGC, UNC.

Awesome, thanks- that'll work nicely.
It's KSC- fantastic little gun, I just learned to compensate whenever the slide doesn't return fully- it always does when shooting.

Bob the Angry Potato March 10th, 2008 16:51

Alright-
Metal slide's installed, but it's completely buggered.
It's not just the recoil spring, the gun doesn't cycle right and it vents gas after a bit- apparently I need a bunch of upgrade parts but I have no idea wtf to do.

It should be the same as a G18C.

Any ideas/suggestions/comments/ANYTHING?
It's obvious I'll need a hell of a lot more then just an upgraded recoil spring to get this working.

Venting gas is usually due to either a jammed flow valve on the mag, or the floating valve inside the blowback chamber having problems/issue/misaligned/broken (a very common problem). I assume you have another mag to test as seen in your picture, then it's simple enough to single out which problem it is.

If there are no issue with these parts, it could be issues with your hammer sear not locking back the hammer which would lead to the flow valve still being pressed even after blowback. Or, it's simply something jamming the slide's blowback, which is usually caused by a loose philips screw which holds the chamber block to the slide.

Hmm, I tightened the Phillips screw in the back- both mags tested with the same results. At least it happened only when the mag was close to empty.
Thanks, though- I'll look into the rest.

i remember reading somewhere that these springs dont allow the slide to lock back after emptying the mag....maybe im thinking of something else?

Strange. I had pretty much the same situation. Installed a metal slide on a KSC G26c and had the stock recoil spring, and it worked perfectly.

Hey Bob, do you hear a "click" when you push the slide forward? because if it is it may be the sears and not the springs. I had that happen to me before, i had the enhanced spring and guide installed to a metal slide KSC G26c and i'd still have to push the slide forward some times. some times full auto would be a little wonky as well.

Yep, I noticed that- it works decently on semi-automatic, but after a few rounds in auto makes it so it has to push forward. It DOES make the click when pushed forward, though.

BBS March 10th, 2008 19:56

ah.... it has something to do with the sears wearing down then. PM Brian (llusion), hes the "glock god".

i got tired of that issue and sold it. all i know is its definately not the recoil spring. if you are venting gas also, you may need a new rocket valve, but as i said before, get ahold of Brian.
