They're just giving you your money back. :)

Think of it this way...

Some one robbed you of almost half of every dime you earned last year then gave you back $1000+-

actually no,,i barely worked in 2007 due to health related issues, then spent 3 1/2 months on a waiting list for hernia surgery, then two months of recovery. didnt return to work full time until feb 2008. made less than 12 grand for 2007 apparently that entitled me to a tax break.

Generally people that make less than the poverty level get a tax break!

I think I made less than 22000 and I'm getting something like 200 back...

At least that's what my Tax guy said... I still think he fucked up, cause I got 1000+ last year... and that 22000 doesn't take into account the rent I've paid (which I claim) and union crap and extra whatnots they take off my cheque.

Anyway... I'm pissed about tax refund time this year, cause unless Wally forgot to carry a couple 1's the gov't can go fuck a sheep with a cows stomach lining as a condom.

Oh, and there was something about the gov't only taking 11% instead of 14 or 15%... I'm not well versed in tax law, which explains my confusion... but this seems utterly fucking ridiculous...

Yeah you should check that out, I only worked for four months and got $1000 + back ( made around $5,000 )

sorry for the thread jack

Ditto for threadjacking

Yeah, Wally said something about how if you work at a couple different jobs, 'they' will look at your paycheques and determine how much money you should make a year based on that paycheque, then slip you into the appropriate tax bracket, and base your return off that "determination" even if you don't work there for a year. I worked for a couple months at Timmies, then KFC for a couple weeks, then got my job here. Wally says it was because of that, that my return was high, because they did that determining thing for each job, even if I didn't work there for the full year...

But I still think that pulling in a net pay of approx 22000, plus paying over 9000 for rent should get me a bigger return than 200... but maybe that's just me.
