sig is not working right, plz help

i got a tm sig P226, it is a great gun and it is all stock. but the last few games i played with it i noticed the thing was cocking back after a shot every once and a while as if it was out of bb's. i didint think much of it and kept playing but it got worse and worse, now its at the point wear every time i take a shot , the slide locks back as if im out of ammo. the only way i can use the gun is if i hold the slide realese button down well fireing, otherwise the slide locks after every shot. what is the problem?

i have taken it apart and re greased EVERYTHING, i inspect all the parts and everythign is in PERfect workign order. could it be an issue with the mags? i only have 2 mags but it does this problem with both of them. i use propain when i fire the gun but like i said, it never used to do this. i have fired over 800 shots with this gun useing propain and never had an issue. i cant see the propain being the issue anyway, seeing as how i used green gas in one mag jst to check and i still had the same issue.

plz help me

Might be a mag issue. Check the BB follower at the tip where it contacts the magazine catch. Anything look out or order or different than a new mag?

Green Gas = Propane, so you should test it with Duster Gas to see if that's the problem.

It could be that the constant use (800 shots in a short period of time is quite a bit for a pistol)

I'm not too familiar with the insides of a 226, but I'll look at a diagram and see if I can figure something out.

update:

i inspeted both mags, there is no crack or loose parts on the feeder on the mag. the mags are in perfect condition. one mag i just bought 2 weeks ago so its brand new. i dont htink the mags are the issue any more, it must be somethign on the gun itself.

Maybe it's your slide catch spring. Take off your slide. Now try to flick up your slide catch. Is it sprung? Does it spring back downwards like it should?

nope, i checked spring just now and it goes down perfect. ne other thoughts on this?

Slide catch look bent up at all?

cranberry February 24th, 2008 12:06

nope, slide is not bent, thats what i thought when it first started doing it, but i bought another stock slide, put it on and its still doing it

With 800 rounds? It would have to be pretty shitty.

Take your slide off. With your slide off, play around with the slide stop. It should be spring-loaded downwards, so even with the gun upside down, it should naturally pull itself against the lower frame. Is it doing that?
