P90 8.4v or 9.6v battery for m100 spring.

So I have the following setup.

TM p90 TR
The following Guarder upgrades.
Polycarbonate Piston
Air Seal Nozzle
Ball Bearings Spring Guide
Polycarbonate Ventilation Piston Head
Stainless Cylinder Head
Lucid Chromium Plating Cylinder

And I will be putting in a Systema M100 spring.

Now, currently I have a M120 spring, so I had bought a couple of 9.6v batteries, now i was wondering what would be better, I know that you should not use a 9.6v battery with out and upgraded spring or you risk stripping the piston. So my question is: is a M100 spring upgraded enough so that the 9.6v battery is usable, or should I go back to my 8.4v.

Thanks

A 9.6v battery is a bit excessive for an M100, but it should work okay. It's borderline.

Well, I did all the upgrading at once, since I don't like to open up a mech box more than necessary. But the first thing i would do is put in the metal brushings. With that and a upgraded spring you can probably run for a while. But i just got a guarder FTK and the systema spring. The FTK comes with an upgraded spring, the field I play at has a limit of 400 fps and the systema one gets that while the guarder 120 goes over.

Thanks for the info, I think I will go with the 8.4 and then switch back if i put the m120 back in.

well, 8.4v large and mini can do it no problem, if you want a bit more RoF use a 9.6v mini, you'll notice the 8.4v large would also give you a higher RoF
don't know how you'd use a large battery though

Use a buttstock extender, battery pouch or the P90 Battery Modification posted by Greykins
