marui mp-7 upgrades

i have been looking around for a while but can i upgrade an mp7 to 320 fps and how?

just put in a new set of metal bushing + PDI 120% spring into ur mechbox and ur done.

Which is a pain in the ass to do for a first timer, which was me just a couple days ago

This is implausible advice.

A PDI 120% spring is about 4 times longer than an MP7 gearbox - it's a completely different gearbox design.

My MP7 is upgraded with everything except for the spring and it's shooting 255fps with 0.20g BBs. I think the spring can only get it up to around 275fps maximum. Even if you could stuff a spring in there that can shoot 320fps, the motor and gears will have a very short lifespan (none of which can be replaced.)

If you're looking for an upgrading project, the mp7 isn't a great choice.

And yes, it *IS* a difficult gearbox to upgrade - mainly due to the tiny size of it.

I see...

No... that's not what I said.

I think it's actually a GREAT design - given it's limitations.

It's NOT a great design if you're looking for a gun that you can heavily modify. Marui actually doesn't design any of their guns with the intent for modification.

An mp-7 is a great CQB gun and in a tight environment like that there is no reason to upgrade it at all. If your looking for a field gun then get a feild gun don't try and turn a CQB weapon into one

I like the holster for it.

Metal bushings
Bearing spring guide
Tight bore barrel
Deep fire upgraded spring

310FPS @ 12RPS

I've put atleast 2000 rounds through it after the upgrade, and it is great. The tight bore made it a freakin laser. I have consistantly hit people through the hinge side opening (big door at XT 2" wide)from 15 feet away. And if my RDS is pointing at it, I hit it.

did you chrony it? i haven't chronied mine but if thats the case i've got a
Nineball power spring
Nineball Damper Cylinder Head X
Nineball Piston Head

my rough figures and popcan test show its shooting roughly around 280-290 fps.

To those who've upgraded the MP7, how does it affect battery life? I have upgrade parts coming for mine but am worried that it'll drain the 500mAh battery too quickly...

Jayhad July 16th, 2007 11:57

I upgraded mine quite a while ago and I have put around 10000-15000 rnds through it since then. I upgraded my battery to a 9.6vlt 3800mah as I was finding I was only getting 3 mags out of the stock batteries.
I have found that the Nine Ball spring sucks ass. My mp7 has gone from 280fps to 165fps over the last year. I am going to go with another spring soon. I did read on a hawian (SP?) airsoft site that they took the spring out of a M700 and cut it down to length and the gun was chronod at 325fps but as Illusion stated don't know how long that could last and once you pouch the gears it's new mp7 time.

ILLusion July 16th, 2007 15:08

What spring was taken from the M700? Aren't most M700s gas guns?
