TM AUG??
 

Hey I'm kinda new to the whole airsoft thing, I've played for about a year just renting the guns and now I"m about to buy one, and I'm looking at getting a TM AUG Rail Type. For my playing style, I like to be able to shoot people from a distance but I also at times like getting right in the midst of things. So if anyone has experience with them please let me know what you think of it, anything and everything from pro's to con's.

V3 Gearbox.....nuff said. (ie excellent)

If you like the design, it is a very good gun.
Personally I dont, but it is still a good gun with a good reputation.

The last one I saw was almost totally silent.

I'm not fond of the fire selection method personally, but whatever floats your boat.

maybe the answer is to... try one... if you've been renting guns and playing for a year you should have some idea about the differences between designs no?

prefrance is everything. When I first started I was in love with Tommy guns and thought that AUGs and P90s were moronic.

Now I love bullpups (mag behind firing hand) for their longer barrels and looks. AUGs come full metal but you should but a steel front grip stem from the airsoftcanadaarmoury and replace it right away as they break easy. If you buy a used AUG they usually don't have the sights so you have to rely off of RDS (red dot scopes) or other sights.

Ya I had heard that the vertical grip was its weak point, I looked for the replacement part and its only 20 bucks for a full metal one so thats easy. I also heard that the AUG's come fully metal but I have not been able to find out where it says that. Generally the guns come with some metal but mostly ABS plastic, so I find that odd.

I haven't had any problems with my vert grip so far, but I've only had my gun for a little over a year now.
The AUG is considered full metal because everything that is metal on the real one is metal on the airsoft one, keeping in mind that the real AUG has a polymer body.

i have a classic army aug a2, pretty much all metal and fiberglass reinforced ABS plastic. It's strong as hell, and you can pretty much beat someone with the buttstock. the real winner for it though, is the high performance motor, i'm getting a ridiculous rate of fire on 8.4V batteries, i can't wait until i get my 9.6V in!

what are some of the differences between the CA and the TM takatorikku?

i think it's the 7mm mechbox, high performance motor, fiberglass reinforcement, build (no creaks whatsoever), real trades, a serial number... that's all i can think of at the top of my head

There are no creaks on the TM aug.

The Classic Army AUG motors are different from the TM AUG motors, so the CA high performance motor would be the equivalent to a EG 1000?? I've never actually taken a gun apart but I've read that its very difficult and time consuming. I also read that the gun does not preform as well afterwards as it did before being taken apart. Would you say this is true?

That all depends on how much experience you have with the mechbox. If you get the CA AUG, don't screw with it, it already performs beautifully. If you get the TM one use it for a while, and maybe upgrade it later. But do your research first, I opened a few mechboxes before I knew what i was doing, and the results are no good.

yeah i'd rather spend $40 on a gun doctor than another $500 for a new gun. besides, the CA AUG already shoots at a very nice 310-330fps. no need to upgrade unless you plan on hurting someone.
