Best. Present. Ever.

My boyfriend has quite a bit of kit and weaponry. However all of his kit is too big for me. His CIRAS (small) is about two times too big. So this is absolutely perfect for me, being that I'm quite slim.

Yay! Plate Carrier! I'm plannihng on filling the plates with sand. Mostly because it'lls it well with it. And also for the more realistic weight.

i was given a hi-capa 5.1 for a present once, and that was pretty sweet.

but the CIRAS is good, youll love it, and i think you should buy my phantom M4 pouches, they look just like the ones you got :-D

You are kidding here right? There are many more things you can use to make the weight realistic and who cares if it is anyway. Use thin foam rubber to fill it out instead of the plates, sand is just ridiculous and will destroy the gear.

She is talking about these plates that her boyfriend order. They are hollow plastic with a small hole on the top. If they are filled with sand and the whole is taped up, there wont be any way for the gear to be destroyed.

No she's not kidding. The plastic SAPI replica's are quite hollow and ridiculously light (I've worked with both real and training ones). What I do is drill a small hole in the top and fill it with sand to the appropriate weight; then plug the hole with some gun tape. I'm sure most people wouldn't go to the trouble anyway, and yes you're right, filling the actual gear with sand is quite ridiculous. She's not that silly...how do I know? Because I bought the plate carrier for her.

You rock!

So where did you pick this up?

NuttyHunter July 2nd, 2006 13:43

Are you asking where he got the girlfriend who plays airsoft or where he got the plate carrier from....?

I'm being facitious (sp?) he tells me I have a habit of doing that.

He ordered it through a friend (said friend, post here if you want to be known; I care not to advertise your 1337 skillz without thine permisions....) but for a plate carrier... well.. have you bothered to check out Airsoft Armoury? They have some. This paticular one.. I'll wait for Point_Man to answer.. I don't know details...

I think thats what we all want to know.

I didn't see them on the shelf at Wal-Mart this weekend, maybe if I went to Sport Check?

:D

Freedom Fighter July 2nd, 2006 19:05

That has to be the smallest plate carrier I have ever seen. When I first saw it I thought it looked like a drop leg panel since it looks like the BHI one I have. Damn that's tiny.

firemachine69 July 2nd, 2006 19:07

It even looks too tiny for me, and that's really creepy...

Here, the entire conversation for you. Although, all you had to do was look up a few posts....
