VFC compatibility
Either my google-fu is lacking lately or the answer isn't on the interwebz.
I'm looking for info on RS compatibility with a VFC MK18. Specifically want to know if I will have problems with a Seekins Precision MCSR V2 as well as a Magpul STR. As far as the stock goes, I've found people with receiver extensions on their VFC that are neither commercial or milspec. Thanks in advance. |
If you can wait until tomorrow, I'll take a vernier calliper to an RS extension and a VFC MK18 extension and let you know.

RS barrel nuts will thread on to VFC receivers. Just be aware that AEG receivers are wider, so the sides may require modification on that rail.
VFC buffer tubes are undersized, any stock will wobble on it. The stock itself should not wobble on a mil-spec tube though. |
Thanks for the heads up on the receiver width.
How would I get a mil-spec tube on it though? I thought VFC tubes were held onto the receiver with a screw instead of being threaded into the receiver and tightened with a castle nut. |

Is anyone able to confirm if a real mil-spec extension will be able to go on if I either re-tap the receiver or re-thread the extension? Or was the previous information correct with the VFC extension being attached to the receiver with a simple screw through the back of the receiver? |
99% of AEG buffer tubes attach through the back of the receiver, VFC included. Normally they screw into the spring guide inside, but VFC screws directly into the receiver so you will have to use the original buffer tube screw.
Again, just by a DyTac Mil-Spec AEG buffer tube. Real tubes won't work. |
