UMP mags fit in an MP5?
 

I’ve got a Cybergun GSG 522 RIS, which is an incestuous spawn of an H&K MP5 and an H&K UMP. This may be a n00b question, but would UMP magazines fit in a standard MP5 AEG?

I’m mainly asking for aesthetics purposes; sometimes in my film projects I need to mod one gun into 5 different guns (e.g. swap sights, lights, etc).

No it's doest fit normally. UPM shoots .45 ACP and the MP5 is 9mm, thats make the UMP mags bigger.

Nope, locking mechanism looks to be entirely different.

If it's for film then it doesn't need to function.

I'm guessing you want the waffle mags. Just make some out of nylon and have them interference fit.

That guns fits only MP5 mags..

And you might want to ask airsofters around you to borrow guns... it would be a lot easier.

The GSG522 is just a regular MP5 style gun. So no, only MP5 mag fit.
And no it's not the spawn of an MP5 and UMP, it's the 22LR version of the MP5.

For the record, even the UMP9 mags won't fit, the mag well on the UMP is twice as big as the MP5

Believe me, I do a lot of that too.
