AEG TM SIG 552 - Battery & Mag
 

I just ordered a sig 552 a special edition upgraded by TM themself. I want to know a few things:

-Can I really blow up my motor by not using sanyo or branded batteries?

-What would be the best "power" to use with my sig? It should have an upgraded motor. (I presume the motor should be the thing to consider for batteries... right?) So far I think that a small sanyo 8.4v 600ma nicd is what come with my order.

-Is it true that if I don't use TM brand mag I could blow up my sig? I hear the tm mag are specifically molded for the gun tehy make (it make senses in a way) but cheaper replica mag could missfeed and my battery woudl incure looses of power.


My first AEG and my frist upgrade. Only have a GBB (KWA M11A1) so far un-upgraded so pretty new to this "high-tech" stuff. Tried to search the forum but didn't find anything satisfactory.

Firstly, TM Doesnt pre-upgrade their guns, I am assuming you bought the 552 that was on 007 in which Ken upgraded it himself.

Secondly, you can use any mini sized battery (NIMH, NICD) sanyo is a preffered brand but theres more available if you look. Theres no way you can "blow up" your motor, but with time the teeth on the motor will deter and your motor might burn out (After thousands and thousands of rounds).

Thirdly, A good 600 Mah NI-CD battery will do, but since you have bought the upgraded one from 007 (I am still assuming you did) you might want to get a 9.6v for extra pushing power.

Lastly, You cannot blow up your gun with a magazine (Not in airsoft anyway) and currently TM makes the only SIG AEG's in the market so your stuck with TM mags (Untill those aftermarket plastic ones hit Canada)

Not bought on 007 airsoft but from ]censored[. And when I spoke to him on the phone he said taht it was pre-upgraded in japan before comming here.

There are mid-cap cheap plastic that I have seen. 8 for 60us I think...

so any small 9.6v would do the job? Should I limit the ma I use or the higehst the better? Should I stick to sanyo branded battery?

Ok, if its from Airsoft Kelowna go email the person who sold it to you and ask for the whole list of upgrades so we can determine if a 9.6v battery is suitable for your gun.

Those mid-cap plastic ones are pretty good considering they hold 120 and 8 of em go for $60 US.

You can go higher with the MAH but the limit for a mini battery is 1100 MAH which is a NI-MH one. The NI-CD's have a lower MAH but better discharge rate. Stick with sanyo (Better safe than sorry).

Also remember, a Good Charger is needed for your battery to have a good life and work properly, dont crap out on a battery charger, the last thing you want is 100 going down the drain because your crappy wall charger fried your battery (Im guilty of this)

Also, a Large Battery wont fit the Sig series of guns so get a mini one.

Yeah I think I should have a specification list when I receive the gun. And since we ordered three gun at the same time my friend did the order so the guy at ]censored[ doesn't know me. I'll try for teh e-mail anyway.

Would the dual nun-chuck fit the sig?

Probably not, unless you did a bit of cutting in the foregrip, PM ManSolo on here, I think he got one to fit in his old 552.

ok it has now been worked out.

The motor is a eg1000 and I'll use a 9.6v battery in it.

I've never experienced any motor burnout. All my motors have been using for at least 30,000rds + and no problem. I just ruined 1 set of original gear in each gun. I use 9.6V for power source (400fps)
