Quick safety lesson
 

Here is a quick safety lesson inspired by a very recent event that happenned in my garage.

I recently ordered a KJW M9. I got it today. So I went to my garage to test the mags for leakages. I fill one up with propane and fire one blank shot. Im impressed by the loud noise and recoil. Then, take the mag out and load a few BBs to ventilate a cardboard box at the end of the garage. I put the mag back in the gun and aim carefully. I press the trigger and BAM!! The slide recoil and breake, sending a peace of metal in my eye. My mistake was not wearing eye protection since I was not shooting at a hard object and not expecting the box to return fire.

I was lucky in my badluck, since my eye is OK. But it hurt anyway.

I tought I share with you guys. A metal slide is not undestructible.

Lesson learned:
-Always wear safety glasses, even if it's just for testing a few shots, even blank one.
-metal slide are not undestructible.

How the hell did it brake?

I can't, since I got it from a user.

Im searching for a new metal slide or a butcher sale...
I hope the slide alone is not too expensive.

oo BTW back in the good old days, when i went to my cousins, they had this cool GBB and it looked and felt really satifying... but bad thing was they didnt tell me it was broke.. so when i went to fire it the erm.. "part that shoots back and front recoil thingy?" turns out one part was chipped off so when you squeese the trigger... the whole thing shot back AT you.. hit me in the face when i was about 8....

Eye protection is always important. I was popping some balloons with my gbb (running on green so there was no chance the bb would bounce off) The mag had just run out of air so it was shooting at lower pressure, and the round bounced back at me. Luckily I thought quick enough to close my eyes when I saw the bb flying at my face and there was no damage.

Good old prescription lenses... gives you basic minimum protection... they're not totally safe, but they're still a better protection than nothing, and you always wear them, not just while plinking! ;)

I sold the KJW to FOX_111. It was in new condition when I bought it from another user. I put about 15 mags thru it (guessing).

This scares the crap out of me. I almost shot it before packing it in the box for shipping to make the 100% check, but I was out of gas.

I think canada post might be getting a call. I never dropped these berettas and I never used them very much, so unless this was a lemon/ bad quality control problem, there might be a problem with the shipping.

I want to make it clear that it's not Tankdude fault. The gun was in perfect looking condition when I openned it. Might have been crushed and kicked around in transport. Canada post will hear about it.

Funny thing is, im four eyed too but ive got rimmless glasses and they have this ridiculas crack in em and if i get hit im probly gunna end up with an eye full of lens.

I wear prescription glasses to see farder but I did not wear them inside. If I did, I'd probably broken my glasses. Im amazed I don't have a welt or something. I just had time to close my eye, hit me direcly on the eye. I think it was the round edge that got me.

Canada Post has heard about it. Just waiting on paper work now.

That M9 looks nice though, is it the Regular Version? The finish of the gun looks a bit differnt, not black like the ones ive seen or is that the lighting in the room?

Whats up with the name Mrlexmark? You work for lexmark or just like them?

A while back I was either up in Kamloops, or shooting at the side of my garage with a little Spring .177 cal. BB gun, and I caught a ricochet in the eye.

Off a wall, or a fluke bounch off a can or something (low power BB gun)

Luckily enough, I guess my eye automatically reacted to something I guess, like air pressure, or the blur of the BB, but I blinked and caught it in the eyelid..

I guess our eyes are programmed to close pretty g'damned quick, because I didn't see it coming, but it saved me a helluva lot of damage. Sure hurts like hell when those little copper BB's slam into your eyeball! Heheh.
