new to airsoft.. please answer?

hi i recently decided to try this airsoft thing out, i purchased an m14 clear electric fully auto, and a pistal kit from walmart for like, 120 bucks... something to try it out and see what its like, are these weapons any good, or trash, also are they accepotible in games, iv tested them, they seem pretty sweet, nice and sturdy, came with red dot sights, and laser thing on the pistal, witch is sweet looking... they feel good, but im wondering cause there clear if there any good or not, or if i should be ashamed of them

Go read the FAQs now... And i seriously mean like NOW, and the community frowns upon underagers owning guns.

embrace the shame. LOL

The weapons your purchased are not the best, if you are 18 or older, you should get AVd and check out our buy/sell section and our retailers section for some MUCH better guns that are not too much much more then what you have already spent.

Be sure to read the FAqs, there is VERY important information there including how to get AVd. Please read them as soon as you can.

If you are under 18, READ THE FAQs ANYWAYS :D
Spend a lot of time here reading and learning.

Welcome to the forums.

If you have to ask... then I think you have your answer

burningashes December 4th, 2010 23:31

I have one question.. Are YOU 18?

redzaku December 4th, 2010 23:51

have you even took a look at the guns being sold?
the amount of money you choose to use to buy guns with, will determine if your gun will break in the heat of gaming
(gaming? or the proper term is playing or airsofting?)
now go read the FAQs

i mean by looking at videos on game play on youtube or the aftermath of a game

You can absolutely bring them out to a game, but your probably not going to enjoy it very much....
I'm sure people there will let you shoot their guns to compare range and accuracy, but ideally you should get age verified and buy a decent used gun here in the classifieds

BGrail25 December 5th, 2010 00:44

I think you mean M4... There's a difference

L473ncy December 5th, 2010 02:49

Surebet did all that work...: http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=93431

Anyways, OP it's not like you can't bring them to games, they're fine but you'll be seriously outgunned. Maybe borrow someone elses gun for a match/scenario and see the difference.

Not the greatest quality items. The addition of a cheap red dot and a laser are usually items that are meant to distract the buyer from how inferior a product is by making the think that their getting all this awesome stuff in one package. When in reality its like buying a hamburger full of free fit. Just cause the spits free doesnt mean its a good deal. Unless you like spit burgers, then by all means, please enjoy your spit burger.

If possible I would suggest returning them for a refund and savings the money for something else or a rainy day.

Getting carded is usually dependant on the store, and having them is not by any means an indication that your are an adult. But since you say you are 26 no problem you can get your AV and all will be well in the world. I would that you do return them and get your money back. If you are interested about trying airsoft but are not ready to drop $500-600 just to try it thats ok. There are many people who are willing to rent a gun and some mags to a player. I suggest you contac an AV and arrange a meet. See if there are any events planned and ask around to rent some gear. That way you can get an idea if you think you will like it or not. It also help so fill out your location so locals can help you out.
