Npas installation help please
 

Hey guys,

I recently purchased an RA-TECH NPAS Version 2 from ehobby for my WE M4 GEN. 3

Upon installation I found the steel nozzle to have a slightly larger circumference to the brass chamber. I've tried lubing the o-ring and forcing it into the chamber, but it just won't fit unless I apply alot of pressure.

I'm hoping someone knowledgeable in this field can help.

Should I continue forcing it? Is this common? What shhould I do?

its been common recently. either lightly sand down the o ring, or sit there for a few hours racking it till it wears down enough

1. Search more. It's come up a couple of times in the past weeks.

2. It appears like it's a more common thing with this run of parts

3. Take both o-rings off the nozzle (carefully...don't want to nick/cut them)....test fit without them on. If the nozzle goes in/out easily without the o-rings then you know the parts fit at least. Try one o-ring, then the other to narrow down which is sticking/too tight.

4. Find other o-rings that are tighter/lower profile...lube them up good and work the bolt to "wear in" the o-rings.

or (and this is entirely up to you to try this)....take some fine grit wet/dry sandpaper (400 or 600 grit) and lightly buff the oring to reduce it's size. Keep lubing and test fitting to get a nice fit.

or...I suppose if you had a lathe you could run the channels for the orings a little deeper so the don't protrude as much...but that'd take some careful measuring and setup time....(probably not worth it for most).

I thought it was the nozzle tip that you sand down not the oring

I'll try exhausting all suggestions until my problems fixed.

Just an update:

I lightly sanded the oring and worked the rack for a good hour, It's a little tight still, but is really working with the chamber.

I have the same problem with my we scar. It makes it harder to cock, but the gun still cycles fine. I'll just let ol' wear and tear fix it over time.
