Review King Arms Galil (56k beware)
This is my first King Arms weapon and so far I am pretty impressed.
What you get in the very nice foam padded box. Well you get the gun, one 120rd mag, well written English manual and an actual speedloader. http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c7...y/DSC01797.jpg The gun itself is very solid and appears to have quite a bit of steel in it. The only play in the gun is the fore-grip, it's ever so loose. This is a very minor complaint really. http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c7...y/DSC01785.jpg Since this is a fully licensed copy of the real thing it has full IMI trades. I have never handled a real Galil so I cant vouch for the authenticity of the trades. Being that it is marked 223rem makes it seem like it has civilian markings. The selector on the grip does move but serves no purpose. All weapons controls are in the traditional AK selector setup. http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c7...y/DSC01798.jpg The stock is a folder and very solid in both the extended and folded position. The stock locks positively in both positions. http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c7...DSC01800-1.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c7...y/DSC01799.jpg Mags are slightly longer then real steel STANMAGs. They fit in most of my mag pouches but I could see how some pouch configurations could be a tight fit. The mags are proprietary, I had thought maybe KA would make AK mags work. But as with the real steel the Galil has it's own mags. http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c7...y/DSC01796.jpg It's a bit larger then a 74U. http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c7...y/DSC01806.jpg But slightly shorter then a full size M4. http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c7...y/DSC01809.jpg This gun does have a blow back system. It really serves no purpose other then to look cool. Which it does. http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c7...h_MOV01795.jpg |
Front and rear sights are fully adjustable and have a cool night setup.
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c7...DSC01801-1.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c7...y/DSC01802.jpg The gun takes a standard AK stick type. It is a little trickier to put the battery in then on a standard AK. You have to remove the gas tube by pulling off the dust cover and then retracting the bolt. It is a very tight fit width wise, as you can see the batteries sticker was torn off. As far as length wise it appears as though it could accommodate at least a 12v battery. http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c7...y/DSC01803.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c7...y/DSC01804.jpg So hows it shoot? I'll let the pictures tell the tale. This is average with G+G .25 bios. http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c7...y/DSC01807.jpg This is average with G+G .20 bios. http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c7...y/DSC01808.jpg This gun is definitely not going win the hottest shooting gun contest but it works for me. I'm going to pick up 6 more mags and then give it a try as my primary. |
I decided to try my hand at modding an AK mag to fit. My first attempt was with an unknown brand hi-cap. After literally 30 seconds with the dremmel it fit perfectly. To my surprise it also still worked in my CA 74, VFC 74U and VFC AIMS. So I decided to move on to one of my VFC mid-caps. Same result and they function flawlessly.
Nice fit http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c7...y/DSC01873.jpg As you can see very little had to be done to make it work. Left is unaltered, right is modified. http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c7...y/DSC01874.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c7...y/DSC01875.jpg The more and more I play with this gun, the more I love it. King Arms get top marks in my books for this weapon. |
Upon closer comparison to my RS Desert Eagle, the trades font is spot on. Looks good to me.

Nice bang sticks ,great review!
|
Nice gun and great review! :)
|
That looks really good. I need to start saving.
|
gun looks nice...good review
|
Nice review , i also plan to buy one , can not stand waiting some month again for an ACM clone
Is it possible to desactivate the blow back system ? |
It's more complicated then the VFC AIMS but I'm sure it can be done. I kept having issues with my AIMS so I just popped out the "paper clip" that operated it. The Galil has had no issues and works great, so I have not really thought about it. When I get home I'll put up some better pics of the system.

Sorry to be an idiot, but what is a Galil? It sure looks like a AK47 or 74 to me? Is this just a AK47 made in a different country kind of thing?
It looks very nice! Great review, thanks! Gordo |
5 seconds on Wikipedia would reveal:
The Galil’s design is optimized for operation in arid conditions and is based on the Finnish RK 62,[1] which itself was derived from the Soviet AK-47 assault rifle. It was selected as the winner of a competition for the Israel Defense Forces that included many other rival designs (among them, the M16A1, Stoner 63, AK-47 and HK33) and was formally accepted into service in 1972, replacing the dust-sensitive FN FAL. |
I bought the Galil and i have received then will desactivate the BB system

Small quikie review of my King Arms SAR
PROS So after finally getting around to get myself a stick battery, I went to a skirmish game with some old friends in his warehouse all I can say is I love this Bitch!! - Very sturdy body no creaks what so ever the smal gap in the foregrip even though look flimsy, it's not its made with a sturdy nylon platic type material and a small thin metal plate. - Stock form with a .25 it is shooting a respectable 292, 290, 290, 288, 268. The groupings at a distance of 100 ft is a respectable 2.5", Blowback works well with no hicups or jamming even though the bolt got caught up in my vest during one of the lefty shot. - NO Power upgrades are needed!!! - Stock 120rnd mags was loaded up with 60 rnds all shot through except for the last three rnds - 14mm thread you can change the birdcage flashider to anything, in my case i put my FAL flashhider on the GALIL - maximum distance of this AEG is approximately 150 - 170 ft effective range CONS - Stick battery (yeah I know use a LIPO, but I'm too irresponsible to use a LIPO) - Limited mags availability - finish is too nice - Wood kit is impossible to find eventhough it's available - lack of aftermarket RAS for those gadget geeks. - dummy selector switch can be a pain at times (Either make it functional or leave it out) - Blowback- After seeing a teammate SOPMOD blowback fail, I'm kinda thankfull those boys at KA put some thought into their blowback, eventhough the BB action is not as nice or crisp as the TM, I believe the KA will withstand my TORTURE!! - Crappy marui type spring guide WHY? KA WHY? everything else is topnotch on the AEG except the spring guide Conclusion- With a rumored 500 unit limited run the GALIL SAR is a sweet piece of ass, get them while you can if not wait for the ARM or the MAR, definitely best bang out of the box http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e4...4/DSCN4965.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e4...4/DSCN4966.jpg |

Small review of my King Arms Galil ARM
1st of all the gun is amazing, its well made full metal and it shoots with great power, the gun itself its heavy and it almost feel as if ur carying a real galil, the dissambly of the gun is also perfect well made,i installed the wood handguard on it,coz the original version comes with the black handle wich is really cool by the way also. -The model of this gun its super amazing the blowback on it the mags, the bipod,u can make it look like the old galil with the wood handguard, and u can make it look like the modern galil by the black handgaurd, and with it also it will look like the south african version wich is the R4. -The trademarks are really nice and accurate -The dummy selector can b a bit pain in the ass if ur holding coz u cant feel the whole grip on the gun with it,but its ok,wish it was movable liek the real thing. -The whole gun deserve every dollar u pay for it no matter how much it costs coz the moment u take it out from the box its super heavy and scary.. The galil arm is such a nice piece of a gun iam sure the other models, the sar,ar,micro, are well made like this,Its more high class than an ak47 and very tall gun like the fn fal |

other pics of the King Arms galil arm also u can c how long is this rifle super long
|
welcome to the King Arms family, be carefull with the bipod I almost snapped mine off on the ARM, also you might want to change the spring guide and nozzle for some reason with teh amount of good quality material and workmanship King Arms has put into this and FAL AEG series, they decide to cheap out on their spring guide and nozzle. These parts were also swapped on my FAL they are similar to the flimsy Tokyo Marui version.
|
wish we can put some scopes on it but i dont think they will fit coz they need 2 b installed from the outside

Hell yea iam not gonna drill my gun just for the scopes hope they will make special ones for the galil in the future
|
ICS one. Saw it on arnies as I was searching for more Galil knowledge.

the dual selector switch is a nice touch but knowing my experience with an ICS, I think i'll stick with my King Arms
|
ICS galil mags fit well and tight with no wobble on my king arms galil arm if anyone wanted to know
