Double Tapper April 13th, 2008 19:07

I'm thought I was asking what is a small mechbox,as in what version.
I'm working on something and was wondering about small units.

version six, but they are hard to find.

I would go with a version seven, you can buy everything you need.

But the version six is a bit more boxy.

Which gun are you making? It might be useful

I am custom making a small aeg,I had some ideas when go
through all those pages on wgc.I guess my thread is stuck
down here.http://www.airsoftcanada.com/images/...n_banghead.gif

Then use proper language :)

Why not just buy a V6 mechbox?

Ok, I think I found the box I'm looking for.It is out of a
A&K m249.Not sure of the version,arnie didn't mention
that.So here is a picture of it.also I read in the broken
box thread these alunimum boxes. Is that so for all of them.

unless it says steel, its aluminum or monkey metal.

The Box you have there is big and heavy. I wouldn't call it small by any standard. It takes up the whole receiver on the SAW.

What gun are you making? That might help the selection process.

Double Tapper April 13th, 2008 21:45

Alright,I'll talk.

http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2..._m79fseibs.jpg

This is a Mosquito Molds Extension Inner Barrel Set for CAW.
I had plan to make mini mini gun out it,something like a pistol
or forearm attached. That is why I wanted a small box.Like
a James Bond specialty gun.

Tankdude April 14th, 2008 15:00

That would look awesome.

Now do you want one mech box per barrel or one for the whole thing? Is it going to spin?

If I was to attempt this I would go with compressed air.

Harbinger of Darkness April 14th, 2008 15:13

+1 for compressed air if you want it to spin.

Double Tapper April 14th, 2008 15:17

Well I've been talking with a friend of who is in rc stuff,I've been
researching large scale rc helicopters.I like the hueyII or the cobra,
and use wireless cameras to fly and aim.So for now I'm working
on the gun part first,as for firing,High speed gears, low fps and
medium turning barrels running off a worm gear set up.:)

Double Tapper April 14th, 2008 15:22

An idea just popped into my head after posting. If these barrels are shorter,
I can shorten the mechbox because I don't need the full stroke of the
piston,Or so I have read in cylinder to barrel matching. What do you guys
think?.

Double Tapper April 14th, 2008 20:36

With a light spring and high speed gears and motor, what kind of
ROF would I get before things got messed up,like the piston not
finishing its travel forward before the gear came around again and
throw off the timing?.
