TOP MP-40?

What do you guys know about the TOP MP-40? I'm thinking of geting one in the far future. Maybe around christmas.

Renegade) July 6th, 2006 22:17

Umm, the what?... We dont really deal with any small brand guns from the US, Canadian retailers tend to just import the bigger brands, TM, ICS, ect.

Russianboy July 6th, 2006 22:20

What are you talking about? I see tons on places in canada that sell guns made by TOP. Also I think "Erik_james" has one.

Renegade) July 6th, 2006 22:23

Maybe so, but the vast majority would only have knowledge of those bigger brands, that was my point, I didnt say no one would, of course their are plenty of players out there with a few unknowns in their collections.

Just saying, since your in the US, you would have alot more guns, types, brands ect, that alot of us have never heard of, and cant buy.

Russianboy July 6th, 2006 22:27

No, it's about the same.

To what I hear you can make a special order via a retailer to get stuff from hong kong.

Stop regurgitating the generic advice you were given when you asked stupid questions, it doesn't apply here.

Renegade) July 6th, 2006 22:36

Alright, just took a few google searches, had a look at it, interesting design, different lol, but neat. Like I said, wont see many of those on the fields :P but of course, if you wanna stand out, go original.

Russianboy, id say youd be good with it, just make sure to get full metal ect, cuz it looks like it would be short lived plastic, not bad stats, but id still prefer a TM, ICS, CA, ect real aeg. Worth the extra money.

Meh, what I said was genuine, true I asked one stupid question about a gun that turned out to be in the US, but unlike most new ppl, I searched and found my answer. Just telling him politely, that MOST retailers in canada, wont carry them, but that doesnt mean they cant do special orders as he said. I made sure to word it that way :)

Russianboy July 6th, 2006 22:41

Stop your jiba jaba. now this topic is going to be pointless.

first : TOP do make real AEGs.....

second : I do think TOP is much more expensive than TM etc.

Ah well, forgive me, but cant never stop learning! Im reading up on em now actualy, carry on boys. Im interested to hear more about em now to.

TOP has always been making LMGs and they're pretty good at it. Some say STAR makes them better , some also say the internals by TOP aren't TOP notch lol

Handicapper July 6th, 2006 22:52

The TOP MP-40 is made of STAMPED STEEL, not plastic. Its recomended, I would get it.

Russianboy July 6th, 2006 22:56

What about the bellows and gears?

PoFF July 7th, 2006 07:23

The outer shell of TOP guns is usually formidable, while their internals, if I base my opinion of the original stuff that was in my TOP M249, is junk. I don't know for the MP40, but in the M249 and M60 they used some kind of crappy 'soufflet' system, because Marui has (had?) a patent on the piston system IIRC.

Neutrilizer July 7th, 2006 07:34

MP-40... WWII gun I believe? I don't know about you guys, but im not into the whole "WWII airsoft" scene. Most people have modern warfare gear and weapons, and you'd stand out like a sore thumb.

Greylocks July 7th, 2006 08:36

I doubt very much that the MP40 uses a bellows system. Continue doing real research guys. It beats hearsay.

The TOP MP40 is Extremely Rare in Canada, dont expect many direct reviews here.

It does use the bellows system!

Canadian Psycho July 7th, 2006 09:31

the only Top MP40 in Canada is Eric James', I can say that it feels really nice. but the low FPS(220ish) and finiky internals isn't so good. but i do believe you can buy better internals for them.

Russianboy July 7th, 2006 11:42

You can get more FPS if you bend that tappet plate thing. Get like 50 more FPS.

TOP MP-40 issues with low FPS.

Darklen July 7th, 2006 13:08

I've had eric_james' MP-40 apart and it definately uses a bellow systems. PGC makes a "normal" gearbox conversion that's pretty pricey, like about $300 usd and does not include cylinder, piston, gearset or motor. Eric want to get one and have me install it, but it'll cost more then the gun

http://www.uncompany.com/images/pgc-...x-mp40_big.jpg

Product info

Nice gun, hard to get mags for though. There's a hicap available now if anyone has them in stock.

Greylocks July 7th, 2006 14:26

Well then, my turn to learn something new. I would not buy a rare gun with a bellows system. I'd just wait until a model with a decent mechbox shows up.

The cylinder, piston, gearset and motor are just normal AEG parts right?

Also what was the gun haveing issues with?

Just some thing to add. Bellows crap out at what 30,000-40,000 rounds. Thats what ajot of stock AEGs with crap out at. I mean for a support gun its no good. But for a gun I would only use maybe 3-4 times a year. I think I could work with it.

Darklen July 7th, 2006 15:44

No issues with the gun, we just wanted to see how difficult it might be to install the PGC conversion. Still, without actually doing the conversion, I don't know how hard it would be.

Russianboy July 7th, 2006 17:06

I think I will keep the Bellows if I get one.

Maybe bend that plate to get better FPS.

Russianboy July 8th, 2006 14:03

Also, have you had any issues with the gun?

And how many rounds have been threw it?

sucko July 8th, 2006 15:50

I see one in Germany (A real and the Top ones) http://www.sniperairguns.de/
I think it is a impresive gun pretty havy!
And a good qualety......

But i don“t know something about acurrarcy?
Never shot the top MP40.

Russianboy July 8th, 2006 18:22

Ya but I'm not going to get one from Germany when I can get one from hong kong.

GMTII July 8th, 2006 18:48

1

Russianboy July 8th, 2006 21:45

Hey man, Try moveing that plate.

Alot of people have been geting issues with that not closeing off all the air. Also some thing to add this guy was geting way bad FPS like 180 with .2's.

Get more fps if your guns haveing that issue.

Also if we end up like what we hear from you. Me and 2 other of my frinds are geting Mp40's. I might get a Shoei Mp44 also.

INVICTUS January 14th, 2007 19:01

I picked up 2 MP40's(just for good measure) from Top last year. So far i have been really happy with them, not to sound fruity or anything, but they r awesoem to look at and they perform beautifully.

to bad the Shoei's r hard to come by if not impossible.

Krieg January 14th, 2007 21:12

Dude how many MP40's you own?

3?

INVICTUS January 16th, 2008 02:03

A few MP40's, 5 Tanakas, MG34, 6 Lugers, 5 P38's, I have a thing for German guns, u cant beat German design. LOL

MEINE EHRE HEISST TREUE!!!!!! LOL
