I'd wear a stealth suit in an instant... I wish I could get the nano-machines to go with it tho :(


Closest thing to it would be a divers suit, but instead of maintaining an optimal body temperature (as per Snake's survival suit), a divers suit will just retain heat (you'll die, people will laugh)

As for the rest of his gear (vests, holsters, etc), dunno - either made up by Hideo Kojima, or has real counterparts, but you'll likely find better answers by searching for that on the big-wide intar-web.

I know if you have a FaMas, and a Mk.23 w/ LAM & suppressor, you've got his weapons...

Well, I consider myself an expert on everything Metal Gear. I have over 50 Metal Gear games, for every system, language, region code, whatever. In fact, I am the second largest collector of Metal Gear merchandise in the world. I have almost $8000 invested in Metal Gear stuff right now. Point is, I know Metal Gear. And being an airsofter, Snake's sneaking suits were probably the first thing I wanted to make. And I can tell you right now, if you want it to look good, it will be impossible. Simple as that. The fact is, you cant buy half of that stuff anywhere. Its a video game, its made up. The only option is to make it. But that will be very hard, just look at the links posted above. They obviously spent a lot of time making those, and they still look like horrible shit. To come up with something even remotely close to the vest would be incredibly difficult. Plus I'm sure you dont have the muscles for it. My advice is dont waste your time. Even if you try really, really hard, its still going to look like shit. And I swear to god, if you do make it, and use it for cosplay, I'll hunt you down and sodomize you with an object so large that you'll make goatse seem water tight.

how do you spend 8000 on MGS stuff...how much did the Number 1 collector spend???

The #1 would never tell me how much he spent, probably because he spent way too much, but probably about $12,000. But he's in the UK, so maybe 5,000 GBP? And how can I spend that much? Well, like I said I have every game ever made for every system in almost all region codes. Like a mint copy of "Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake" for the MSX2 in Japan which is about $300. A handheld tiger electronics "Snakes Revenge". A piece of the display that was used at the Konami booth at E3 2004. Rare items that were given to press members at conferences and such. Autographs by Kojima and Shinkawa. Konami shareholders gifts. Guides, books, posters, soundtracks, figures, lots of press and promo items, standees, the list goes on and on and on. I have roughly 250 items, plus about 400 trading cards, which are super rare.

But I've mostly stopped collecting now, and am even starting to sell some of it. I'll be going to basic training in the summer, so I wont have use or the space for it there. Plus, I need money for more practical things. Like airsoft :)

Probably would be fine for indoor use, also bares resemblence to some skiwear or cycling clothes. I don't see a problem with wearing it, I've seen worse at some games.

Bah don't listen to these ninnies. If you like something wear it. Airsoft is supposed to be fun. Be different and wear whatever you like. Personally I think the gear is cool, but who cares what I think? Anything black will look at the very least, vaguely similiar. This look should be fairly easy to replicate.

In further studies it has been confirmed that the moon DOES float around the earth.This took President Bush 1000 years (or how ever old he is...) to get the concept of small sphere orbit big sphere. thank you everyone for your input, I've seen cosplay on the net. IT really is a shame. if I do intend on doing it, I will make sure it's done right. I've done some costume for people before, but not as a costume but as a full "suit". If I do it, I'll let you guys know. Thanks again and happy airsofting!

for the "solid snake" thing miles up there, the suit isnt real, well not that one anyway but there are things like available, and the hk mk23 is pretty much at any airsoft place along with the wilcox lam unit, along with tactical thigh holsters and fa mas sv and the fa mas 5.561...

metal gear on psx was by far the best,the others just seemed to lack so much(bein as by then most games where purely based and sold on graphics not gamelplay) and why would you need it in several diff languages? u wanna waste money become and alcoholic or sumthin

Really, all I say you need after that is the grey BDU, a few more accessories like the knee/elbow pads and dropleg harness and you're set. And a bandana. If you leave that out, you cant replicate snake.

IMO i think you should try his new outfit from portable ops. youd look really cool.

mehhh, the gear yeah, but i mean facial, build, etc.

my one teacher looks like hugh jackman, and I think they both can pull off a snake look-alike.

I think he looks prety accurate, that picture is really good

think the idea of it would be cool but agree you have to have the physical build of a video game character.. There are some almost wetsuit style clothing now but its more of a winter clothing. Think Helly Henson is one of the manufactures would be way to warm for summer tho.

and If they made a Metal Gear movie.. who on earth would make a good snake. Think the closest match that would some what fit the role would be hugh Jackman but hes allready too related to Wolverine.

there was a video posted in one of the threads, some guys made a short film performing snakes story the guy almost looked like snake and nice outfit, it came somewhere from east maybe japan or someplace, i dont remember which thread was it but it was good.
