I found the source of my knee pain to be the straps on the knee pads constricting around the backs of my legs. The ACU pads relieved that. You're right, the integrated pads will wear more on your pants, but I think less pain at the end of the day is worth it.

To be honest, if I were doing a job where I was kneeling constantly (instert sick joke here), I would probably opt for ACU pants and integrated pads over other options.

Yeah, I'd sacrifice the pants for my knees too if it came to that. I find the Nightcrawlers to be really comfortable in that respect so it's not an issue for me (yet).

A pair of battle pants is what you want then, with intgrated knee pads that's inserted inside the leg but is exposed to outside, so when you kneel down, it's the pad that's in contact with the ground, not the pants

I play with someone who owns that type of pants and is not a fan of them. Under really aggressive use, the knee pad part can slip out of their pockets.

A note on water: for every liter of water you carry, it's an extra 1kg (2.2 pounds). Three liters of water is equivalent to another M4A1 rifle in terms of weight. Something to keep in mind.

What colour camo are you wearing? Saw a sweet 3 colour desert AK rig in the ads this week. That might suit those SIG mags.

If I had to chose between water and a rifle I'd be on the field with just a pistol.

A much as absolutely necessary for that particular game and as little as absolutely possible for that same particular game.

I refuse to get into the habit of wearing the same set up for a quick indoor CQB night, to a 24+ hour milsim, to a day of shoot'em up skirmishes.

My rig is modified per each game. I'll drop or add pouches as necessary. Belt only to chest rig to full vest

My preference is to kit up as light as possible to the extent that I'll add gear/supplies to my small camelbak hydration backpack instead of moving to a bigger rig.

3L of luke warm water is heavy on a hot day.


2L of solid ice floating in 1L of water is unbelievably comfortable.

yeah replica gear does that, looks the part but does not perform, I have a few pairs of Crye pants with the integrated knee pad.. they don't come out.. in fact you have to wrestle with them to get them out

Yes and no. My Propper's have insert pockets with strong Velcro. They will never come out on their own.

To add to your note on water, dehydration is bad and I never wish to be required to apply first aid to anyone who suffers from it if it was preventable by them carrying an adequate water supply. I'll help the person, but chances are they will get mocked and teased for it after they recover.

Survey says that carrying 6.6L of water is nominal when carried properly and the straps on the carrier are tightened accordingly. You wouldn't believe how many people don't know how to pack and wear a backpack properly!

Multicam for Kamloops and this region. My SIG came today and the mags are almost identical to M16 mags. I was more worried about the pieces sticking out of the sides that can be used to connect them like G36 mags, but they can be unscrewed and removed.

I agree that hydration is critical. We know a thing or two about that in Kamloops. It's one of the only desert regions in Canada, and it can get up to 39 degrees celsius on summer days. After living here for almost ten years, I'm personally pretty used to it, and may only go through 500-1000ml of water at a 6 hour game day. Obviously, I drink to rehydrate after, but I find that carrying water with you can actually exacerbate becoming dehydrated. Sort of like how carrying excess fuel in your car will cause your fuel efficiency to go down.
